-> “The first thing that sticks out when you watch UConn is how well-coached they are,” Barron said. “Very assignment oriented, everyone has a job and they do their job and don’t worry about doing someone else’s job. They communicate very well up front, their backs are big and they like to make plays.
Outside, they’ve got some transfers that are all athletic. Both the quarterbacks (Nick Evers and Joe Fagnano) are really talented. So we’ve got a lot to deal with it. They’ve really improved a lot the last couple of years since Coach Mora has been there and it’s really impressive to see. And I’m very happy for them, being a Connecticut kid.”<-
-> “Oh, he stands out,” Mora said. “He’s so versatile, he does everything well. He’s kind of the core of the defense. incredibly smart, great anticipation, tremendous length. They can play him anywhere. He can cover backs, he can go out and cover wideouts, he runs to the ball well. He’s physical. I mean, I have watched him for three years and have great respect for him. I think he’s going to be a great NFL player some day because of the traits he has. The way the game is played today, in space, he has all the attributes you need to be a great player.” <-
“Justin’s father, who played at Bunnell High in Stratford, played on Tom Jackson’s UConn teams at Memorial Stadium. His mother, Sara, played soccer at Hartwick. A psychology major, Justin has been a student of football from the very beginning.”Isn’t he a legacy? For some reason I thought his dad was a husky. Great family.
Not at all. This has been a great week for hoops but those games were (basically) a given in the W column. After the bye week I am absolutely itching to see this game. It's been a great week for UConn bb, but for me Saturday is by far the highlight (guess I'm an outsider).
His father was a football walk-on and tried to walk-on to baseball too. He changed his last name after college to his wife’s last name.“Justin’s father, who played at Bunnell High in Stratford, played on Tom Jackson’s UConn teams at Memorial Stadium. Need to punch Cuse in the mouth and do it early, if your going to get a personal foul penalty for hitting McCord make it count and do it early by no means am I saying to be dirty or try to get a penalty we need to be disciplined. We do have to keep a cool head and not pickup dumb taunting penalties. My two takes the Syracuse coach looked like he has little respect for UConn - we were an afterthought in this news conference. Think they see our game is a scrimmage To get tuned up.
Second, if Evers has a “hip issue, having had one, those are not good - can be easily reinjured and now I’m thinking that Evers might be backing up Joe.
You weren't driving the truck.Ugh. Celebrating being able to get a tracter trailor from Storrs to Syracuse is way, way too much like "winning breakfast" to make me want to see a post about it.
I've never seen the boneyard so aligned on something.Fagano needs to start, give Evers another week of rest. It's time for Fagano to open up some nfl scouts eyes...
I get what you’re saying but it was snowing and raining wicked bad up here in “Canada”last night and part of today. Coworker’s wife drove through almost white out conditions only about 30 minutes south of here.Ugh. Yes, we need to set the tone but legally. If they are going to score, make it as difficult as possible. We have the type of D, that they more we make the opposing team make plays, the increased chance we get a turnover. Make them have to grind it out.Need to punch Cuse in the mouth and do it early, if your going to get a personal foul penalty for hitting McCord make it count and do it early by no means am I saying to be dirty or try to get a penalty we need to be disciplined.
