So I was rooting around the NCAA web site and looking at UConn's stats. Roughly halfway through the season, UConn is:

#1 in:
Scoring defense (45.1 ppg)
Scoring margin (34.5 ppg)
Assists (20.6 apg) :-)
Assist-to-turnover ratio (1.5 assists to 1.0 turnovers)

#4 in Field Goal Percentage defense (30.2%)

#7 in:
Scoring offense (79.6 ppg)
Scoring FG % (47.8%)

#8 in:
Turnover margin (7.93)
Three point % FG defense (23.4%)

#10 in Rebound Margin (11.4)

#12 in Turnovers per Game (12)

#13 in:
Three pointers per game (7.4)
Steals per game (13.3)

Very nice, high rankings in many different kinds of categories. BTW, individually there are no Huskies in the Top 10 in any ranking category - as usual. The highest individual ranking is Kelly at #17 for Assist to Turnover ratio (2.22). She's also #30 in steals (3.1 spg).

Is there a link that you can provide for finding this information?

How do the Orange Ones look on these stats?

Interesting stat from the Providence game: 29 assists was the most in a Big East game in nearly 8 years. Nice job!

Well, some folks have been saying this team needs a lot of help. ;-)

The link to the schools' individual ranking is here. And I couldn't possibly care less about the Orange ones.

To get to the individual schools, click on Division I, then 2011-12, then on the most recent date. Choose the school you're looking for from the alphabetical menu that comes up.

Golly gee whizz. Those stats are awful!!!

Depressing. Unforgivable. The kids are lazy and the coaches are stupid!

Someone should start a thread complaining about how poorly our kids are playing and how awful UConn's coaching is?

These stats are really giving me a headache.

What????

Oldecoach using sarcasm?? What's this world coming to?

I'm thinking it is a case of Boneyard identity theft. Someone is posing as OC. :)

It's really me.

I'm just fed up with too many know-it-alls second guessing Geno and criticising the kids every time they make a mistake. These actions help no one, and insult many.

My best guess is that not one of the leading Boneyard "critics" has any significant experience with playing or coaching elite sports at the level where UConn is competing.

To avoid saying something that might be construed as impolite, I chose sarcasm.

With Love, always --

Olde Coach.

Clearly, it was OC since he didn't use an emoticon.

Or you can go to http://www.jackromanowicz.com/WBB/NCAAStats.html and use the yellow button in the middle of the page. There are other useful links into the NCAA site on that page as well.
