Weekend Rotation

Fri Casparius
Sat Simeone
Sun Peterson

Weekend starting pitching rotation and pitching staff in general gets a chance to settle in against more normal competition instead of the buzzsaw of top notch talent that they have seen over the first four weeks of the season. That being said, it should be noted that Saint Joseph's has a team batting average of .321 after its first four games of the season.

Also good to know that at least one of the injured players (Austin Peterson) from the Texas Tech series is ready to play again. We'll have to see about the others. I'm sure Chris Jones will have more info on the other injured players on the broadcast this weekend, or they just might resurface in the starting lineup.

Bottom 1st, Casparius strands a runner at 2nd after a 2 out double. Casparius with 2 strikeouts. No score.

Top 2nd, Christian Fedko with a one out single for the first UConn hit of the game, but that is it for the UConn offense that inning.

Bottom 2nd, a double and two wild pitches bring in a run for the Hawks. 1-0 going to the top of the 3rd.

Especially w/ Jones having tough time w/ Mixlr... thought it was me but clearly not.

Yeah, says he's nowhere near the press box down the right field line with no electrical outlets. His broadcast is silent right now.

Bottom 4th, Casparius with a 1-2-3 inning. Chris Jones is back on the stream. Updating just from the Gametracker is no fun at all. Plus, I'm sending email updates to my wife who is at her office right now, that doesn't help either.

Edit: Just sent my wife the link to the stream.

Bottom 5th, Casparius with a 1-2-3 inning. Casparius has retired 11 in a row. No walks, 7 strikeouts. Control has been fine aside from the two wild pitches.

Bottom 6th, with one out a couple infield singles sandwiched around a walk load the bases for the Hawks. 3 runs score on a single and Kyler Fedko error, 5-4 UConn with a runner at 3rd. Casparius gets out of the inning with no further damage. Casparius with 10 strikeouts now.

Tough play by Kyler... looked like he was trying to be aggressive approaching the ball for a play @ the plate and it scooted by him on the bounce. He owes Casparius one (or two or three).
