As a SJU fan I agree with this totally. Definitely not the time to talk trash in that way to an illustrious UConn program. No leg to stand on at this point. I will remind we do have several national championships long ago when the NIT was split with the ncaa as top tourney, but that’s irrelevant now. One year does not make a powerhouse program in this day and age.
SJU has a long basketball history thoigh and this is good for the sport and our conference. I will make a comment though that yes Repole has been pivotal for sju, but all the bjg state schools have funneled money to players for decades. Just gotten easier for private schools to fundraise publicly and get on the same page.
