Wild pitch moves the runner to 2B, runner at 3B holds. Brown throwing error brings in two runs. 10-7, two out. Runner at 2B.

Top 9th, Kyler Fedko pinch hitting for Maycock to lead off. The big thing is he will be a defensive replacement in right field at the bottom of the inning. Coaching staff loves his defense in the outfield.

Kyler comes up with a single, which is certainly better than another strikeout.

Chris Jones saying that the travel roster starting next week will be 28, and increase of two from the first two weeks of the season.

Uconn really wants to catch that flight

A walk and a hit by pitch brings the tying run to the plate with one out.

Surprised we haven't seen Mayock out of the pen yet. Wonder if he could end up being the 4th starter next weekend.

I don't think Mayock has been on the travel roster the first two weekends, as Chris Jones will occasionally mention who is available to play during a broadcast.

From the preseason coaches interviews, the guys who are extended to be starters are Ben Casparius, Joe Simeone, Austin Peterson, Jimmy Wang, Patrick Gallagher, and Will Lucas. Off of the first two weekends, my guess for the starters for next weekend would be that Casparius, Simeone, and Peterson are fairly definite. Chris Jones was speculating that Gallagher with his good relief effort in this series would give him a nod for the fourth starter, and I am inclined to agree with that.

-> UConn next will head to Conway, South Carolina to take part in a four-game tournament where it will play Miami (Ohio), Davidson, and Coastal Carolina twice. The first pitch against Miami is at noon on Friday. <-

"Austin was awesome". In addition to Peterson and Crawford, some good words for Chris Brown as well. Coach Penders also liked that they were putting the ball in play and force USM to make some plays. Still have things to clean up. That would include the interview that was posted, which is truncated and cuts Penders off in mid sentence, I would think this is due in part to the rush to catch a plane to carry them back home.
