At least we were the hammer and not the nail.
Samson will be a big piece later in the season too. Hurley said he’s got lottery pick potential in a couple seasonsOur frontcourt needs to be a strength this season, and that could be the difference maker for us. We obviouy have Whaley, who was last seasons Big East DPOY, and If Sanogo made a big improvement, we could be dangerous. And, don’t forget about Akok. He showed a lot of potential as a Fr, and since its been over 18 months since his injury, he should be a lot stronger than he was last year.
Of all the incoming Fr, I think I’m most excited to see Samson, and how his season and career plays out. Just from watching his highlight videos, he looks like he’s going to be a fun player to watch.Samson will be a big piece later in the season too. Just saw that the 3-11 on 3's was team and not Akok. This was probably a glorified shootaround but its good to see Akok taking a lot of 3s. Shows that they’re going to try to keep defenses honest and not let them pack the paint on us. Would be very interested to see Jacksons shooting line though
where?Just saw that the 3-11 on 3's was team and not Akok.
Wow they must have been really focused on bullying in the paint. Could be a cool team identity. 3s will be needed thoughThis is the dumbest tweet in twitter history. Just saw that the 3-11 on 3's was team and not Akok.
UConn has more talent than Nova. Nova has the backcourt edge, UConn has a big frontcourt edge. I think Nova's top 5 ranking everywhere and UConn being borderline top 25/unranked is based on Nova being so great in recent years and UConn being poor in recent years. I don't subscribe to Nova clearly being the best team in the league this year.Nova: Apparently lost big to Duke and had a "very competitive" game vs Rutgers.
Wildcats will be challenged this year.
where?
Not a sure thing if one of them is still alive."Three people can keeps a secret if two of them are dead"--Benjamin Franklin
Can't argue with that.
Thabeet and Jeff AdrienWhen was the last time the front court was a core part of the UConn offense? Okafor?
Seton Hall, Xavier and PC have the height to compete with UConn on the boards. I don't know about the rest of the league. This frontcourt is gonna murder the Big East. There's not many teams who are gonna have the size to match us, and that's before we even bring Akok and Johnson off the bench
They may have the height but they don’t have the skill or depth to keep up with us.Seton Hall, Xavier and PC have the height to compete with UConn on the boards. I don't know about the rest of the league.
Yeah I suppose that was comparable. Maybe more defense oriented than this unit. The depth in the front court is potentially well beyond anything I can recall though.Thabeet and Jeff Adrien
All I want is for Sanogo to be that guy we haven’t had in a while, where opposing teams unequivocally know that their front court will be in foul trouble all night. We’ve been on the opposite side of that for way too long. This is not helping me temper my Sanogo enthusiasm.
Adama has prepared himself well for success. Very proud of him and respect his work ethic. All I want is for Sanogo to be that guy we haven’t had in a while, where opposing teams unequivocally know that their front court will be in foul trouble all night. Hall has the defensive upside (Yetna + Obiagu, although not sure what to make of Yetna post injuries, but Obiagu is still huge). Xavier has good offensive bigs in Freemantle and Nunge, but they're both a bit of turnstiles. Watson is skilled, but I've always thought he's a bit soft on the boards and on D.They may have the height but they don’t have the skill or depth to keep up with us.
