It's still far inferior to sewn/tackle twill stuff. It just looks and feels cheap IMO. The shorts TCF shared look fine if they were $40. $70 for that is tough to swallow.

I'd take my $70 and be patient and find a real vintage pair on eBay. They show up often enough and outside of the start of the season and March Madness they can be had for $50 or so. Logos sewn on, the red trim sewn on, etc. Those were some great shorts from Nike.
 
UConn once again misses the boat. Fans want good quality and authentic stuff.

This reminds me of the throwback jerseys they had/still have at the co op.

However I do like the Gampel shirt.

This isn't made by UConn. It's from a third party company that releases vintage old college basketball stuff for a bunch of colleges.

I know that. But they made a deal with them. They should have found a company that would make the 100% authentic
 
Man I miss those unis. I absolutely HATE,DESPISE,LOATHE!!! the current ones. Those were probably my favorite Uni of all time.
 
Anyone else think "Husky Retro Shorts" would be a great video series? Maybe 1 or 2 minute clips of of great Husky moments. A play or two that turned a game around. A good defensive stop. El Amin jumping up on the Pitt scorers table. Just cool moments.

What are you talking about? The template is exactly the same except the new Husky face.
 
They're not exactly the same but they're darn close. Biggest difference is there's no red piping around the knee and no trim in the shoulders and neck.

Go find proper shorts on ebay they go for between 100-250 bucks. Theres no real short or close to real shorts there for 50. If you've found those at that price you got extremely fortunate. Ive been hunting them foe a gag gift, but im not paying what people are asking.

These are a fine approximation.

I bought a pair of these on eBay for $22 less than two years ago. Nike's retail "authentic" shorts circa 2004. Like I said, it's all about timing. Don't look for them during the season and they can be found for $50 or less. The only thing anyone should be paying over $100 for is actual team issued/game-worn stuff.

All I'm saying is why not make the real thing and charge more?

The market is small for these items and I would bet most of those people looking to get them would spend say $100-$120 for stitched ones

Fair. Got ya. Cut is completely different. More like a track and field uniform now.
 
They also sell a couple of retro UConn tee. I love the old UConn color/font. The red ‘U’ makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

shorts just came in - gotta love that quick turnaround - happy with them for sure, no pockets as expected, fits well, great add to the collection!
