Ahhhhhh..... but look at what just happened with Ms. Stevens......I would think her transfer to UConn could have a major impact on MW's attitude towards joining the Huskies......what was a weakness in the front court is now a strength that should be very appealing to MW..let's hope anyway.......

I don't think so at all. If WALKER goes anywhere wherever the destination. It's where she wanted to be

In WBB it's UConn of course, does something lead you to think otherwise?

Just in case you misread an earlier statement..............it is my belief that MW is now more likely to choose UConn with the future arrival of AS..............................

I hope you're right. I've love nothing better than to wake up tomorrow morning, log on to the yard, and read that Walker has decided to join Stevens. Christmas would come twice in two days. It CAN happen.

Some of this recruiting discussion confuses me greatly. It seems to me that there is little to no information released from UConn in particular or any of the elite programs in general about interest in a prospect. It seems that we also hear a great deal from a variety of sources, some likely more credible than others but suffice to say some number who all want to share with the world what a given player has done or is going to do regarding unofficial visits and/or official visits and who is leaning this way or that way. So aside from some folks making an educated assessment of who is on the roster, how they are projected by the staff, what needs are open to filling and who fills the bill first and foremost as being a kid "right" for UConn. So unless staff is talking out of school isn't all a guessing game? Just a thought.

Definitely all a guessing game but not all guesses are created equal. Some guesses are actually based on connections to players families and AAU coaches. I have also become convinced that some some posters have a connection to the UCONN staff.

In a word, yes. It's all just a guessing game. But that's what we do over the summer because it's a dead period, and there's not a much else to talk or speculate about. It's something we like to have a little fun with every year at this time. Anyone's guess is as good as another. It's a chance for us to share our team fantasizes with everyone here in the yard. If we knew for sure what was going to happen BEFORE hand, we'd all be rich.

Bill - if that is a serious lament about the silence coming from Uconn on recruiting information, it is by NCAA rule - the school is by rule not allowed to talk about any potential recruit or target, and they are required by rule to protect any recruit from publicity (including allowing reporters access) while they are on a visit (official or otherwise) to the school or while they are visiting a HS or AAU event during a viewing or contact period. Some schools get a little cute about this rule by posting information about 'a big visit' or a 'big recruiting trip' but never with names or it would be an NCAA violation - Uconn does not do that though the horde sometimes discovers specific destinations of recruiting trips or information about recruits visiting campus.

All of the information coming out about recruiting and recruits is sourced from the other end, the recruits, the coaches, the families, the schools, family friends, AAU or ratings service staff, or the local media. The only time Uconn releases information about a recruit is after they have the signed LOI in hand.

Heck Geno got a secondary violation for being put on the phone with a little league pitcher to congratulate her.

Didn't she verbal to Texas when she was in the 8th grade, then later she un-verbaled?

Absolutely!! As I said in another post. Sometimes someone will post information that could only come from the inside. Either that or they know Ms. Cleo. (Call me now)

I think you're mixing Prince up with someone else because unless I missed recent news, word of her list of schools hasn't surfaced.

I believe she has shown interest in those three schools via twitter..........................my reference to "I can't remember: was my poorly worded way of saying I don't know who else................:( PS: Coach Bill also mentioned that Prince and Collier were the two Texas bigs that had interest in UConn

I agree with Slu we are definitely mixing up players here.
There are actually 3 players that were Texas commits and have since de-committed.
Sedona Prince, Charli Collier & Didi Richards.
Richards is going to Baylor.
Per Coach Bill Prince and Collier still interested in UCONN last week.
Then there is Jade Williams had UCONN interest & home visit in the fall 2015 and per the update on the recruiting page UCONN seems to be losing interest in her recently. Her tweets might be an indication ND & Baylor is gaining some momentum.

Outside of Texas for 2017 UCONN still looking at LaDazhia Williams (P) Florida and Miayla Coombs (G) Gerogia.

Uc- I knew there were rules though not in the detail you provided (thanks). It was somewhat tongue in cheek my observation about the "intentions and desires and etc." of these 17/18 year old kids. What I do find funny is some kid of whom it is written that either they have no interest in UConn or worse that UConn "missed" on some kid. I find it more likely that many of those not interested were never on UConn's list to begin with as is the case with kids we "missed" never measured up to being a "UConn type" or filled a UConn need

I didn't know that Collier also de-committed from Texas...................I guess they got to those 2018's way too early

That's very true but I'm actually amazed how many really good players don't have UConn on their final edited list of schools, I guess it's pretty well known what is expected of a UConn recruit and only a chosen few are prepared to take the plunge.......
There is the possibility that after informal visits they are not really wanted by Uconn. Uconn has many expectations, probably demands, on Uconn WBB players. Hard work is essential. A few mediocre players have remained on Geno's teams because they were hard workers--
If you are lazy and lack dedication or wasn't a "team" player I believe they wouldn't last long. Just my beliefs, no facts to back it up..

Bill--where have you been hiding?? Hope you have been well. I agree with your : rephrasing-Kids uconn missed--uconn may not have had interest in the final product. Geno or his recruiting staff never MISSED on anyone--you can't get the kids that don't want Uconn. Some of the factors I posted earlier why Uconn would not accept. I believe Got nearly everyone he seriously went after---a few of the Bigs MISSED this past year had some issues--over active parents in at least one case. Parents have specific reasons teens act along emotional lines--my best freind goes to school there. (Then when they get their they find their best friend already has a best friend)...

And the opposite is true as well - after visits a number of players look around and go 'nope, not for me' and not based on basketball necessarily.
