I was being generous. Your argument is just plain dumb. I've admitted many times that I know very little about basketball, so I tend to rely on facts.

I also know there is no person "ignored" by more registered users, than you. I peaked at four.
I made no Hurley is the greatest of all-time or new greatest of all-time argument. I used no sarcasm. You came into the thread to laugh at someone calling him the next generation GOAT. You then asked if Hurley has ever won a tournament game outside of the two national championships. You looked up his win total in NCAA tournaments and then said he's never won another NCAA tournament game outside of his two national championships. All I did was point out that you dunked on yourself.

We all know you know nothing about basketball and you're showing off you don't know what facts are either.

Congrats on your ignore count, remarkable achievement.

You are choosing to die on a hill about two wins over ~15 year, but agree about my Hurley/GOAT position. That pretty much defines 'silly argument.' It's one step dumber than grammar police.

Again I made no argument about GOAT, New GOAT.

I just pointed out the fact that Hurley has won tournament games outside of his back to back.

You said you tend to rely on facts.

Yikes, you should probably learn how many games it takes to win the tournament before you decide to post in a thread about an otherwise lack of success in the tournament.
You should really stop before you make a fool of yourself. Donovan was 35 and 20 at Marshall with no tournament appearances.

This has been fun. I'll let you have the last word.

Cherry picked facts apparently using only one data point as a criteria. Your methodology is deeply flawed.

Yikes! Otherwise lack of success in the tournament isn't debatable, it's a fact.

Two wins with four losses outside of '23 and '24, along with not qualifying for the tournament more often than not, isn't even close to GOAT level coaching.

Donovan won back to back and had far more success than Hurley at this point in his career. Anyone here consider him as GOAT?
Donovan won back to back titles then left 2 years later for the nba…..that took him out of the discussion just like if Hurley had left he’d be out of the discussion. We will see what the future holds but coach k turned into one of the goats and he started his run with back to back titles….hopefully that ends up as a better comp than your pick that left for the nba

Reibe and Furphy are my favorite of the four and they’re the two lowest ranked. When’s the last time we had a stretch 5? I’m blanking. And some NBA scouts seem to be higher on Furphy than any of the 5*s
Furphy is a canny player who is always thinking about his next move. He appears to be a very fine shooter from 3 and coupled with Mullins and Adams, we have some tough Palookas who have the drive and determination to learn and improve. Too often the "great shooters" we are supposed to have don't shoot great in big games. We need Curry good shooters. Well, maybe that's way too expectant. As we've learned lately, bad defense is bad business and we've got to shape up soon.

Since we’re already off the rails, what the heck happened here? Did we dodge a bullet going for Furphy instead of him?

Hurley said the following very recently. We'll see if he's right.

“We recruit really good offensive players now and we force them to play defense,” Hurley said. “We force them to rebound the ball like it’s a life-or-death proposition, because ball possession represents life in my mind.”

“It’s hard to win championships and it’s hard to win a tournament like the NCAA Tournament unless you can score,” he said. “It’s hard to get out of the first round if you’re in a rock fight, because you feel enormous pressure in the first round of NCAA Tournament games when you coach at UConn. The best way to mitigate that is to have a high-power offense that can go on runs… to blow up a game because you’ve got firepower.”
