In the Journal Inquirer TIPOFF supplement today, the good article on Stewart contains some observations by another UCONN great, Diana Taurasi.
In talking about Stewart and expectations, she opines that Stewart is at the "perfect" college for a star player. Pointing out something that I had never thought about, Diana says that no matter how high the expectations are for an individual star coming off a great season at UCONN (or by inference, coming here as a highly touted high school star) these expectations are DWARFED by the expectations on the team as a whole, just by virtue of being a Husky and by playing for Geno.
Very interesting. My take on that is that the focus on the team takes the pressure off of even the most talented individuals and helps them to flourish and develop their game to its max.
