2-0 after an RBI single by Bushling. Good at bats by everyone this inning, if Pepperdine were playing FIU style matador defense we'd have 4 or 5 runs already.

Chris Jones is the best in the business but I am very impressed by this guy on the free WCC broadcast, guy definitely knows his stuff

.-.
Bottom 2nd, Pepperdine lead off man singles, advances to 2B on a wild pitch. Gallagher strands him picking up 2 strikeouts along the way, three on the game so far. 2-0 UConn.

That may be so, but Chris Jones always has some interesting UConn nuggets of info that other broadcasters probably won't have. That's why I stick to listening to Jonesy. You are likely not to get that info anywhere else.

Alma mater vs. alma mater

Bottom 3rd, Gallagher with a scoreless inning. Gallagher at 41 pitches (pretty efficient), 4 strikeouts on the game.

.-.
Bottom 4th, leadoff homer off of Gallagher. 2-1 UConn.

After the homer, some additional Pepperdine traffic on the bases (2 singles), but Gallagher strands runners at the corners. Gallagher at 70 pitches.

The bullpen is rested. I'd like to see Pat for one more inning, then turn to our top arms. I get the need to keep the pen rested for USC and LBSU but winning this series today would be huge.

You play to win each game. The games at SC and LBS could be rained out, or could be blowouts.

Top 5th, scoreless inning for UConn.

Chudoba warming in the bullpen for UConn.

We'll have to see how things progress, but it is certainly looking like UConn has a pitching staff with a lot of depth this season, at least so far.

Bottom 5th, Gallagher with a 1-2-3 inning, he is at 7 strikeouts (2 this inning) and 0 walks on the game. 2-1 UConn. 81 pitches for Gallagher, I would expect him to still be on the mound at the start of the 6th inning.

Top 6th, Huber with a leadoff walk, but nothing going for the UConn bats after that. 2-1 UConn.

Nothing much in the top of the 6th. We're hitting a lot of lazy fly balls today.

Pat cruising right now.

With the bottom of their order coming up, I'd let Pat start the bottom of the 7th, then turn to the pen at either the first sign of trouble or when their top of the order comes up again (whichever comes first).
