UConn opens as 33-point underdog @ Army

DR Ratings gave us a 3.5% chance of beating Purdue and originally projected Purdue winning 42-17.

They're giving us only a 1.8% chance vs Army and predicting a 40-11 score.

If you don't take Army and the points, you're a fool.

Even when Army tries to slow down the game and run out the clock it's the triple option.

Globetrotters v. Wash Generals would be a more compelling match up than watching the UConn D have to figure out how to defend the Army offense.

I am not a gambling person, but I think you meant give the points. If so, I am with you on that.

Army has couple of 260 fullbacks. Our linebackers are under 230 and a couple are under 220. Gonna be a long day for the D. But hopefully SK will be even better and our receivers won't drop as many balls, which cost us a TD last Saturday. I think we put up 20 on Army. Not enough to win but just maybe enough to cover.

Army is a tough squad with super motivated players. They are the exact opposite in mentality to our sad sack, low motor, no mental toughness tag football specialists.

This game has me torn. I love UConn, but how can anyone root against Army's cadets knowing the sacrifices many will make for our country?
Easy: In uniform on the gridiron I will always root for our Dogs. Outside of a football stadium I will always root for those who serve, and for the academies against anyone not called UConn.

Wim or lose I hope the UCONN team and coaches stay on the field with Army as the cadets sing their alma mater as sign of respect and thanks to the cadets and all members of our armed forces past and present.

does anyone know how many times we've covered the spread under Edsall 2.0 teams?

Not many.

If we held Purdue to a field goal on their last drive of the first half, we would have beat the spread at halftime for the first time this year. Alas, they score a TD. Almost pulled it off though.

I would not have any issue with UConn beating the crap out of any Service Academy.

Of course, that will have to wait for some future date.
I think we have a real shot agains the Coast Guard Academy.
