Miss Porters School would open -7.5 against us.
To be fair, some of those debutantes can be pretty stout.

Because Army won't score that much?

Because our biggest weakness on defense is the secondary. And Army is pretty one dimensional running the option.

I also expect the offense to make a jump this week this is the second weak with the regime.

DR Ratings gave us a 3.5% chance of beating Purdue and originally projected Purdue winning 42-17.

They're giving us only a 1.8% chance vs Army and predicting a 40-11 score.
The spread of 33 and the over/under of 52.5 taken together imply UConn is predicted to score at least 19 do they not?

I just posted what they posted. I take it as them saying "take the points".

It means that the bookmakers think Army will score 43 points and Uconn 10 That is your 33 point spread and 53 under/over
Quite right:

x + y = 53
x - y = 33

yielding

x = 43
y = 10

Shoulda taken the time to write it down.

To stop a well run option you have to first stop the fullback. Our D tackles have not shown themselves to be good at stopping the run. Then you have the QB read or pitch. Do we have anyone who tackles well one on one in space? If you don't it is off to the races. Then there is the quick pass over defenders who are sucked in because they are all in on stopping the run. We had better hope our offense can run some clock and score 21 to 24 points. If our offense craps the bed you had better be taking the points.

Army has couple of 260 fullbacks. Our linebackers are under 230 and a couple are under 220. Gonna be a long day for the D. But hopefully Steven Krajewski will be even better and our receivers won't drop as many balls, which cost us a TD last Saturday. I think we put up 20 on Army. Not enough to win but just maybe enough to cover.
We couldn’t put up 20 on Wilby

Army is just as good as, if not better than, Purdue. Why is this crazy?
That's just nuts.

Purdue had an All American candidate at WR, who tore us apart. And an All American candidate on defense who we couldn't block.

Army does not have anythng on their squad remotely close to the guys who domintated for Purdue;

This game has me torn. I love UConn, but how can anyone root against Army's cadets knowing the sacrifices many will make for our country?

My dad went to UConn for three years and then to West Point, graduating in 1945. I've always loved the Army team(s), but I'm a UConn grad, so.... Maybe an Army victory on the field and a moral one for UConn? Please?
