UConn officially in Fenway Bowl v UNC



-> Joe Fagnano grew up in Williamsport, Pa., home of the Little League World Series, is a fan of the New York Yankees, and will play the final game of his college career at Fenway Park. If he was baseball coach Jim Penders' closer or left fielder, the UConn graduate student would have a memory of a lifetime. As football coach Jim Mora's quarterback, he has an opportunity to leave a mark on one of the most successful seasons in Huskies' history.

"It's going to be a cool atmosphere for sure," Fagnano said. "I've been to some games there, but I'm a Yankees fan so I have some mixed feelings about it. It's going to be fun. "I'm just trying to take it all in. It's been fun with these guys but at the same time there's been a focus that's kind of clicked. We've missed a couple of opportunities to get some big wins so all of our focus is on winning the Fenway Bowl. I'll worry about that stuff after the game. It might be the last time I play football but I'm worried about beating North Carolina and getting our ninth win." <-

-> "When he's had to come in when Nick was hurt, he's performed. When he's had to start, he's performed," Mora said. "This team has a lot of faith in him and trust in him. You look at his stats through the year. He has (18) touchdowns and four interceptions. That's one of the better stat lines in all of college football for a quarterback. There's a reason he's playing right there." <-

-> "The goal is always to win a bowl game, not just get to a bowl game," Fagnano said. "We still have our goal in front of us." <-

Reads to me that we should expect JF to start…which is not surprising…and is a good thing.

Purchased my tix from Vivid Seats App. Status showed delivered, but did not show up. I called and was told to go Ballpark App. They were there. How or why, I do not know.

Not surprising. players going into NFL draft will opt out of the bowls since do not want to risk injury, I would guess the only games where there would be no opt outs is for CFP.
