The deal seems to be possibly but probably only at Sam Adam's 2 locations. Maybe stop there first. Can we get this beer??
This is shaping up to be the perfect bowl game for the program. We might have more fannies in seats than at a typical game in The Rent.
Don't remember that specifically but I do remember -- in perhaps one of the top self-inflicted wounds in program history -- we passed on a seven game series with ND because legislators and others threw a hissy fit b/c none of the games would be at the Rent because of a false sense of "who do they think they are" pride. Our 3 'Home' would have been a combo of Fenway, Gillette, MetLife. I think we had maybe 10 years in D-I football at that point.Do I recall correctly that Fenway wanted to host Notre Dame and have us as the opponent at some point in the last 10 years until BC through a hissy fit?
Looks like attendance at last year's Fenway Bowl (BC vs SMU) was just 16,238. Hard to imagine considering BC is right there.

This might be one of the most important games in the history of our program.I haven’t bought tix yet, where is everyone sitting?

I also recall something about the homes games having to be played at the RENT! The rest of my post is based on this potentially flawed memory and maybe incorrect opinion I think as fact. I also think the coaches wanted this series. It was a political "bad passed" football pun intended. but one the politicians felt inclined to make. They only made it worse arguing about it through feeling instead of fact. They should have just said we would have loved to play you but the current RENT contract stipulates we can't. This for me is the reason, I would love to see another stadium but one controlled by the UConn AD. Again, pipe smoke, and a couple of pennies - Not going to buy much but an opinion and we all know about opinions. LOLI recall that our "home" games in that series would have been at either MetLife or Gillette.
Hoping Joey Meatballs is our QB. Fagnano has the chance to become a legendary name in our program if he can lead us to victory in this one! This might be one of the most important games in the history of our program.
Why do I say this? Time and time again and this goes back to Edsall, we’ve chances to get signature wins and we’ve come up short. Even this season, every time we had a chance to let Div 1 and other conferences know we are no longer just a BB school, we lost.
Not to cast a shadow on this season but the lime light is on us.
Let us punish NC and the ACC conference by dominating this game and sending a message!
This game is a resume builder for us getting into a decent conference once and for all.
It doesn’t guarantee anything, but it certainly will make Power 4 conference take notice that maybe adding us isn’t that far fetched.
The season will be a success no matter what but there is something special about this bowl game IMO.
Our group is in B119 and B120I haven’t bought tix yet, where is everyone sitting?
I remember it is a 10 year deal with our home games in MetLife Stadium, and Gillette. I think it might have helped us to be Notre Dame's plus one when they joined the ACC, but who knows? It definitely would've been a visible game against a storied opponent.Don't remember that specifically but I do remember -- in perhaps one of the top self-inflicted wounds in program history -- we passed on a seven game series with ND because legislators and others threw a hissy fit b/c none of the games would be at the Rent because of a false sense of "who do they think they are" pride. Is UNC more vulnerable on the ground or in the air?Hoping Joey Meatballs is our QB. Fagnano has the chance to become a legendary name in our program if he can lead us to victory in this one!
Partnerships with Fenway and Pinstripe would be even better once CFP expands and guarantees x number of Big Ten bids.I don't know if DB can swing it but he's done miracles with contracts before. I'd love to see us have a tie in with the Fenway Bowl where it's ACC-AAC/UConn. It seems like it would be in everyone's interest as the AAC basically said no thank you this year and it paid off big time for the Fenway Bowl with attendance. Imagine if the ACC could send BC or Syracuse vs UConn. The local sales would be great because both teams would be local.
Nonsense. This is a link to the players who found new schools via the portal.Speaking of Army, there is one team that will be playing with their full complement. Even if they could opt out, not a single one would let their teammates down.
If you buy them through the UConn site you'll be with UConn fans. Frankly, I suspect 9/10 of the fans there will be UConn fans, so all seats are safe.I haven’t bought tix yet, where is everyone sitting?
I think part of the problem was that our contract with the Rent is that we needed to play at least 6 games at the Rent. We were exploring if we could add ND as our 7th “home” game but that fell apart as well.I remember it is a 10 year deal with our home games in MetLife Stadium, and Gillette. I think it might have helped us to be Notre Dame's plus one when they joined the ACC, but who knows? It definitely would've been a visible game against a storied opponent.
The legislature's attitude was a little problematic, in that they thought they could dictate terms to Notre Dame. I do understand the idea that "we just paid all this money for a new stadium, we are going to use it." I think there might have been an opportunity for negotiated settlement with a game or two at the Rent if it had been handled more diplomatically.
You mean one of the best choices that was made for the program by others.Don't remember that specifically but I do remember -- in perhaps one of the top self-inflicted wounds in program history -- we passed on a seven game series with ND because legislators and others threw a hissy fit b/c none of the games would be at the Rent because of a false sense of "who do they think they are" pride. Even Coach Mora stated that he thought this game would act as an audition for the NC players to show Bill what they could do. Should be a good one.I full expect UNC to come out swinging. I'm sure every player is pumped at Chapel Hill with their next headcoach and want to show Bill they're committed. That being sad, UConn by 7.
Not much of a stat guy, but looks like they are equally vulnerable. Offensively I think Joe can hand off as well as Nick, and provides more of a threat with the pass. Don't see Nicks running QB threat as much of a factor unless he was really a mess physically and is ready to rock. Then there is the leadership factor and earned start variable. I nod to Joe there also. What says the Yard?Is UNC more vulnerable on the ground or in the air?
