got my tix through fenwaybowl.com. If UConn can't resell the best tickets and have it laid out properly then I'd rather be guaranteed an exact seat where I'd like to sit. Lower endzone seats are a non-starter (though buying one then moving to where you want to sit. I can't imagine more than 15-20k there (Maybe 20-25k if Belichick is on the other sideline).

Anyway, going to be awesome. I'm wondering about the fan fest and if that's going to be worth it...

That’s strange - I bought yesterday but was just looking through the UConn link I just saw the following and the ability to scroll down below Field Boxes listed.
yeah, it's only showing me $80 sections via UConn link. Strange indeed.

UGH that's messed up - I could have had much better seats not using the UCONN link. Oh well.

I don't get how UConn doesn't have a larger assortment of seating from their ticket allotment and these endzone sections are the only choices. Something is not right. Maybe the athletic department & ticket office haven't had time to straighten this out considering it's been less than a day since they knew UConn got the Fenway Bowl invite.

Something is not right about how UConn is selling tickets. Who is managing the process? I want to buy from UConn, but they aren’t offering decent seats and Fenway is offering lots of good seats.

I wanted to buy through UConn also, but I also want good seats. It’s not the money it’s the view. Dave Benedict, are you reading this?

FYI
I emailed the Red Sox ticket office about not being able to forward tickets.

They replied that forwarding is now available. And it is. Not sure if it’s active across the board or just for me because I asked.

It seems they decided to do a phased roll out rather than sell all at once.

I suspect to give the illusion of scarcity so people will panic buy. And it looks like it has worked!

Real Bush League thing to do though. Deliberately pulling a fast one on the most devoted segment of your fan base.

Not just because of the trickery but also because you cannot be certain what the university actually has available. Whose to say they aren’t gonna drop 50 yard line seats in Box seats after selling all their grandstand?

Now, hoping UNC takes it seriously too.
I've been reading the Tar Pit message board and these heel fans really do not give a hoot about this game. they call it a meaningless exhibition and are imploring their favorite players to opt out. The tone of the room is they are not wasting their time going up to boston, either.

sucks because whoever does dress & play will play hard for them, I'm sure, but something feels empty about playing a game the opponent doesn't care about, even if we get the win.

Yeah, having a bowl game on national TV featuring in a stadium packed with noisy UConn fans is really gonna suck. Especially when compared with those other bowl games on a similar tier with half full stadiums.

Fine by me. If we win it’s shows the same no matter who suits up. It will show we are a hungry and committed program.

Well I care so who cares if they don't care and if you care then that's all that matters. Just because they don't care doesn't mean we shouldn't care. Let's show other conferences that we care more than UNC cares. We want to elevate our program then we should all care and not care that they don't care.

UConn doesn’t have control over seating. If you buy via UConn at $45 price, you will be able to sit pretty much where you want.

I bought grandstand tickets through UConn yesterday when they first went on sale and then they appeared to sell out all sections (a variety of good seats and end zone seats) twice. They are definitely rolling out the allotment so not all on at once.

I hope they sell out. Donated 4 seats too. We need a good showing.

You need to keep trying via UConn’s link. There are definitely $45 tixs available. You don’t have to pay $80. Adjust the number tixs and select the stadium view option.
Sorta funny, when I click the link in the email from UConn Athletics, I only get $80 options. However, when I click the link from UConnbowl.com, I only get $45 and $69 options :)

Someone made a funny tweet. Two basketball programs playing football on a baseball field.
