UConn not in Gavit Games?

So basically you're agreeing with me that this is an AAC-level decision. Stuff can get done if people want it to get done. Evidently the powers that be don't want this to get done.
Nelson, that you?

The contract was signed prior to UConn joining the Big East so did not include UConn (compared to the Big 12 Challenge which expired and was renewed after UConn rejoined)
You win the Championship your League needs to make an exception. Small minded twits.

Been told the Big 10 is the issue here.

Big deal. They can amend a contract. This is an AAC-level decision.
Took the words off of my fingers. Amend the contract and remove DePaul because…… well, they suck. Add UConn. Not difficult

Why shouldn't they want to boost their conference's OOC strength of schedule? If they win against us, it could buoy the entire conference and get them an extra bid (and money). Small-minded decision.

So in 5 years when we are in the Big 10 will we be unable to play The Big East teams in the Gavitt games?

It's unclear which side doesn't want to expand it. Could be b1g. Maybe the conference commissioners agreed to expand and then the b1g schools who weren't planning to be in it complained their schedules were already full.
While this is possible, then just put UConn in over DePaul lamo. They have like 5 fans, no one would care…

For all we know it could have been us that decided against it. They might have matched us up against a lower tier school and we told them nah, we’re good, we’re playing UNC at MSG that weekend.

That St. John's-Michigan matchup is a great pairing. MSG + Newly revived interest in SJU basketball + thousands of UM alums in NYC will make for a great atmosphere. Only downside is that it's a Monday, but what are ya gonna do

Other downside is that St. John's and Michigan are both going to suck

As I've said in the past, we would have been the feature presentation.
The refs would clobber us, Hurley would get T’d up twice, and we’d lose by 2 in every game. The Big East can go………….

I’m very close to NYC and have some Michigander friends and coworkers. Might take that trip myself if it’s not too pricey lol

Welcome to the league with one of the worse commissioners in all of sports.

You wrote worse where you should've written best.

they don't put projected last place teams in these events guys, sorry to break it to you.

but tbh the big east should be thankful any power conference school even considered playing their church league teams.

Workshop this one. Lets get a 2.0 version that's funny or biting.

Still waiting for that STFU emoji.......
