The game scheduled for Wednesday in Storrs was rescheduled to today in Boston (prolly because of the impending rain storm) anyway 5-0 UConn Bottom of the 3rd
I believe that if a pitcher is wild it is safe to assume that he's going to try to get a fastball over the plate. So when a pitcher is wild, you sit dead red. And if you get it, you swing.I'm sorry, but what is it with this team having to swing at the first pitch all the time. It just doesn't make sense to me when a pitcher is wild. Make him throw a strike.
FSU game Friday @ 7PM will be televised by CBS sports
Yeah, my bad, I mixed my Florida college letters up. It is USF. We don't play FSU this year. Hopefully in the very near future we will.I assume you mean USF?
Right there in the top of the 6th is a perfect example of situational small ball time. Mazzilli and Fuller get on 1st and 2nd no outs and a 7-0 lead is now down to 7-5. Verdi up after they just had a wild pitch and a walk by the new pitcher and what does he do, grounds into a double play, rally killer. Why not bunt there and have 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Better yet why not atleast take a few pitches since the pitcher is wild. No he swings at the first pitch. It is this type of boneheaded decisions that continue to hurt this team and have all year.
