The UConn Athletic Director is working to make NIL opportunities available to UConn’s student athletes. A program has been set up to “elevate NIL initiatives” so that the Huskies don’t fall behind other schools. See the below. The Bleeding Blue for Good program helps both student athletes and charities and is a worthy cause.


 
The AD is also actively soliciting companies to invest in NIL. Dave Benedict conti to impress

 
I have no issue with individual athletes receiving NIL income based on their marketability, but I really despise the idea of universities competing for their entire team based on who has the most cash to wave at them............I'd much prefer a standard NCAA stipend of a few hundred dollars a week to make sure every player meets his/her basic needs with additional income from corporations based on individual merit. with guidance from the school....
