UConn MHOC headed to the 2026 NCAA Ice Hockey Tournament >Game 1 @Worcester Regional v. MIchigan State Spartans (3/26/26 @1:30p on ESPN2/FoxSports97.9

A quick reminder

In 1980 in Lake Placid, team USA ended ghe first period tied with USSR, and gave up the only goal scored in the second period and went into the locker room down one after 40 minutes.

This game is not over.

Let's go UConn you have to step up this period or season over. And no more bad turnovers. And if we get a power play chance we need to take a advantage!

Hard to score on power plays when you don't have snipers on the level on MSU. And shots on goal don't matter much if they're not quality shots.
If UConn had 1 or 2 high level forwards it would make a world of difference in these must win games or going against the upper echelon of college hockey

UConn has a had a couple grade a chances but Augustine is the best goalie in the country.

UConn is still very much in this game. UConn is the underdog in this game. We’re only down by a goal heading into the 3rd period. We’re right in this thing. UConn Just needs to go out in the 3rd period and give it their best and see what happens. Can’t ask for much more than that. Let’s go Huskies!!!!!

Shots on goal don't matter much if they're not quality shots. Hard to score on these power plays when you don't have snipers on the level of MSU, or can't even get past their blue line to set them up to begin with.
I was thinking the same thing, need to stop trying to carry the puck in and start dumping and chase

Missed most of the first two periods. Out of the 34 shots to 17, so most of UConn's shots were not on good scoring chances?

Michigan State turned a switch on the last 5 minutes. UConn cannot get much going

Ehh in a best of 7 we get to game 6 if we are lucky. UConn never really seemed in it. Last year against Penn st had a much better vibe.

Proud of the program for making back to back NCAA tournaments. Just tough the way last year ended so close to the Frozen Four and now today. Another 1-goal game, and coming off another denial of a Hockey East championship last week makes it even harder. We are right there, just want to get over the hump and get UConn's name on a Hockey East banner in TD Garden, and get a UConn men's hockey Frozen Four appearance.

Wow, UConn had a chance there at the end. Very good college hockey game. UConn was not outclassed and held their own. It wasn’t the outcome we wanted, but UConn shouldn’t hang their heads. Michigan State is just a more talented team. No shame in getting beat by a quality opponent like Michigan State. UConn continues to improve every year. Next year will bring a new crop of youngsters to UConn to watch develop. Should be another fun season.

LOve this team. Just overall really hard working bunch. Easy to root for. Today was a bit of a microcosm of season. CAnt finish enough, bad plays in our own end. HOnestly not many teams were going to beat this guy today. He made 5-6 saves on grade A plus chances that could have turned the game. BEauty and frustration of hockey depending on which side you are on. The hot goalie.

No shame in losing to Michigan State. They are probably going to make the title game.

Back to back seasons making the tournament is a big milestone for this program. Always play hard and put pressure on in all three zones. Enjoyable to watch.

Going to miss Ryan Tattle. Worked his way up from a 13th forward or healthy scratch his freshman year to, in my opinion, UConn’s best forward his senior season. Tremendous growth and development and always played hard.

Now Richard, Muldowney, and Viking watch begins
