UConn MHOC 2025-26

This weekend against BU is decisive. Lose two.....awful. Split ......acceptibile. Win two (with one in OT).....great. Win both (outright)......WOW!

If I see ANY empty seats, especially in mid-ice "donor country", I'll scream, again, and again and again. FILL this arena with BUTTS, not paying no-shows.

I understand about wanting attendance and I do not understand people who buy and don’t go or at least give away the seats , but it happens all the time in every venue.

Pretty embarrassing BU and BC get the rep bumps to stay in the poll. Both of their play this year has been incredibly lackluster. BU gave up 8 goals again last week!
Agree how are they still ranked when they have a loosing record. Even if UConn swept buby shooting the puck more at home two weeks ago bu still be ranked!

Hockey East has struggled in the non-conference this season. Playing to a .559 non conference win percentage. The league has only a combined .375 win percentage against the Big Ten and the NCHC.

Hockey East will probably get at most 3 teams in the tournament this season.

Hockey East NPI (which has replaced Pairwise this season to determine the NCAA field) after the 1st month:

3. Northeastern
16. UMass
27. UConn
28. Maine
30. Providence
39. Merrimack
40. BU
44. Vermont
46. BC
47. Lowell
48. New Hampshire

Cav said Trey Scott missed last weekend due to an upper body injury and was a healthy scratch the other game he did not play.

-> Now that he’s a Husky, the first question most ask when they play UConn is, “How Tall is No. 6?” The answer is 6 feet 6, so once he’s laced up on skates, he’s closer to 6-8. That makes for quite a site when attackers approach the blue line, and quite an obstacle when they’re on the power <-

-> “He’s an elite penalty killer,” Cavanaugh said. “His skill set is a lot better than people give him credit for and his reach is something you can’t teach. To beat him one on one, it’s really hard. Another of our young defenseman, Brendan Dunphy, is trending to be that kind of player. It makes them great penalty killers because they cover so much space and take away so many seams with their sticks. Viking is really materializing into an elite college defender. It’s not going to surprise me to see him playing in the NHL someday.” <-

Only 2 Hockey East teams in the top 16 of the only rankings that count, the NPI.

Hockey East really hurt themselves with their non-conference performance this season.

28. Providence
32. BU
34. Maine
