UConn MHOC 2025-26

Not for nothing - early odds to win 2026 Frozen Four includes UConn at 40 to 1. NY Post printed top 14 teams odds-wise this am. Michigan has the best current odds. BU, BC and ME join us from HE.

Show me tonight!

UConn @ 15:

If the FF selections were today, the ECAC would have four at large in the dance (but probably 3 plus their champion) and HE only one at large unless UConn is the HE champion and then zero at large. Yikes. Can that be right?

How did quinipiac gain two spots even we beat them Saturday and we only gain one. It seems like there's homers that vote for their favorite teams. It's just like when bu was one game under 500 this year and somehow they stayed in the top 20!

Didn't Q stay where they were? That in itself is a little galling.

I have been to so many in both places that they are almost interchangeable in my mind. But Worcester is only 1 hour away and Albany 2 hours. Concessions almost equal. Parking is fine both places. Both are far far above Allentown. But the barn in Allentown is quite nice and so is the rally bar is right across the street. Just too friggin' far to drive.

Way to early to talk about the bracket yet UConn is at 15 their not guaranteed a spot yet. Especially if there's teams that are out of the Bubble win their conference championship. If 4 teams that are between 1-11 win their teams conference championship than UConn is in. If there's any teams outside the Buble that win their conference championship than UConn will probably be eliminated unless they win the hockey east championship. So they need to continue to win games and no losses at home especially!

Watching the Michigan State-Penn State outdoor game at Beaver Stadium. We gotta do this against BC or Maine at Rentschler some day, collaborate with the Wolf Pack and do something like the 2011 Whale Bowl.

I kinda like Cornell. A legendary team that UConn never plays OOC. That game would really draw.

We played them in MSG in late November a few years back. At the time we were off to one of our best early season starts ever while they were maybe .500 going into the the game. They destroyed us in the game, it wasn't pretty.

They do that to people. They knocked my alma mater out of the NCAA 's last year.

They’d be cool too but it would be hard to get an OOC game in late January/February for an outdoor game, especially if CT Ice continues.

Maine’s fanbase would definitely travel down here and BC is always a top-notch program. PC or BU would probably be very good options too…

I do think we should try it soon, especially with the advantage on the rest of HE with having a big football stadium. Only BC has that and they can’t even fill it for football

Ok I'm poking in on Cornell at Brown right now and apparently they have a huge Boston alumni chapter, so I'm coming around to them a little more

Hahaha, I love the irony. They can't fill the stadium for football, but could probably fill it for hockey.

How quickly we forget Frozen Fenway as an attempt to host college outdoor games. Literally the worst venue and sight lines for hockey I’ve ever experienced, so, yeah a football stadium would be better, but if we remember the Whale Bowl in 2011, we had a cold and snowy winter season much like the one we are having now, and Howard Baldwin took a financial bath on the event due to extra snow removal costs even with 21000 tix distributed.

If a Rentschler P&W event were to ever be considered again, it would also have to include the WolfPack again. One difference today is though that UConn is in HE and is playing well, so there’s more to offer…

UConn’s brand is more powerful than Whalers nostalgia at this point. I think a UConn-branded event featuring the Whalers/Pack would be far more popular than the Whalers/Pack-run event featuring UConn.

I was also at Frozen Fenway and sat way too close. Fenway is mostly something for the history/atmosphere, as we also saw with football. Rentschler’s sightlines, as a pretty soccer-friendly layout, work much better in hockey

Some of us attended the UConn-Sacred Heart outdoor game from that event 😉

Eagles home game will be crucial IF we come out of the next four road games (NE, Maine x 2, BC) successfully. IMO, we need at least nine of the twelve points. A tough ask.

BC beat Harvard to advance to the Beanpot final. Root for BC to win it all, as we can improve our NPI playing them twice more.

Win, or go home.

Add UConn to that 4 team mix. Could any of the teams reasonably expect to net 9 of the 12 points on the road? Probably not…

That would be huge in the NPI if it happened considering the away win weighting factor. Most teams feel pretty good if they split on an away trip. Of course UConn seems to play better away.
