NET: 6
KenPom: 9
BPI: 10
Torvik: 5
WAB: 4

Road/Neutral: 10-0
Q1: 6-1
Q2: 7-0
Q3: 3-0
Q4: 5-0

Couple of notes: Creighton is currently 75 in the NET. We need them to stay within the top 75 for last night's win to stay a Q1 win. Villanova is currently 33 in the NET. If they can get within the top 30, our OT win at home vs. them turns from a Q2 win to a Q1 win.

Remaining Q1 opportunities in the regular season: St. John's x2, @Villanova, @Butler. Butler is currently at 64 in the NET, so need them to stay within the top 75 for a road Q1 opportunity.

Lunardi has Duke as 1 seed in the east and us as 1 seed in the south…. i know it doesn’t mean much…. but it does to me damn it….. And if this battle keeps trending the way it is, ESPN, Duke, and the ACC will do everything in their power to shove Duke into that East No. 1 seed.

Its important. Especially if Houston is in the South. They would have home games at the Regionals.

up til last night's game, duke had been playing significantly better than uconn over the past month. For better or worse, the eye test matters. THey also have 8 quad wins to 5. Their florida, MSU, and KU wins match up about even with illinois, florida and kansas. We have the extra high-level win over BYU OOC, but they also just whacked a similarly rated louisville team by a significant margin. And they have an extra chance against Michigan for an elite win, which I htink is a toss-up at this point.

If both teams run it to the end of the season, Duke has the edge...and I'm not sure there's a particularly good argument any other way. Unless Uconn obliterates these non-tournament teams they should be for the rest of the year, I think they are not sitting at #1 in the east. For better or worse, efficiency metrics are on the team sheet, and uconn is a trailer in that department too.

Concensus is uconn is #4 overall right now: http://www.bracketmatrix.com/

That said, I don't think both teams will run it to the end of the year, so the point will be moot.

So are you the guy trashing UConn on the Duke board or was that a big mixup

Who cares about Duke here? They always get the benefit of the doubt from rankings and selections.

Comparing our schedule with theirs is kinda pointless since we still play St. John's twice and Nova one more time. Then we have the BE tourney.

But beyond that not matter what if we are even in W-L with them, they will be #1 in their region because they are Duke.

Probably not the perfect thread for this, but seeing as I have seen complaints about Tarris in game threads and calls for more Reibe, some of Tarris’ metrics below:

9th in PER in the country
7th in Defensive Box Plus/Minus
5th in Defensive Rating

While playing only about 63% of minutes.

There has been way too much Tarris hate this season.

No way. The boneyard tells me he’s incredibly inconsistent. This can’t be true.

I love Reed, we're not winning a championship without him

I don't think it's hate so much. Even though he is putting up very solid numbers, the eye test says he could be (much?) better. Seems he has a couple rebounds just slip out, a couple of bunnies not get over the rim and obviously a few free throws not go down every game.

He is capable of having a couple more rebounds, a couple less turnovers and another 5 to 7 points a game without changing anything but focus/effort.

So yeah, it sucks to see he can be an even bigger stud. We don't get to 21-1 without him, but we could be even more scary if he could clean some things up a bit.

We’d be much better if Solo made his open 3s. Same thing with Karaban. Actually if everyone on the team made a few more shots and a few more rebounds we’d be better…

I think your frustrations are misplaced. He isn’t missing layups on purpose. He’s leading the big east in field goal percentage for god sake. He’s not the reason why they have struggled. It’s been turnovers and missed open shots.

So few good centers in the BE that Tarris should easily be 18/10 in his sleep. Duke Brennan should have 3 more rebounds a game than him. This Michael Ajayi is at almost 12 a game at 6'7".

What BE teams have legitimate centers? There are like zero in the BE other than Zubi and maybe Duke. Tarris should be pile driving this conference. I'm not sure he's even first team BE as of now.

So you want him to average about 20 and 12 on 70% shooting? Because I mean that’s the next step from where he is.

Yea we’d be better if he did that lmao. He’d also be significantly better than Adama Sanogo and possibly player of the year.

Why can’t we just be happy he’s a top 10 big in the sport?

He’s clearly not the problem. If we even have one.
