hard to add to CL82 list, but I’ll try…

MAUI invitational championship 2011
PKI champion 2023
I agree it's difficult to add to CL82's post and then on yours, but I will.

Only 2nd team to win NCAA championship in first appearance for a program in a Final Four
5 wins in 5 nights - that will never happen again

MAUI Invitational 2006

Besides Melo, it's hard to think of non-uconn players who basically carried a team through the tourney on their way to a ring. Kemba and Bazz are hard to beat for tourney superstars.
2nd Danny Manning reference today. Poor guy can't catch break between his own fans talking down his title and everyone else forgetting him entirely.

This one's tough to measure by numbers. Nonetheless, a truly eye-popping accomplishment.

JC building UConn into a national power from a small, regional program. Might be unique since WWII. He's going down in history with Rupp, Wooden, and Dean Smith. Someday (I hope maaannny years from now) there might be a Calhoun Colosseum.

So accomplished that it’s controversial to put a guy who was the Big East Rookie of the Year, first team Big East and second team All American with a 15+ year NBA career in the Huskies of Honor.

Starting in 1997 every 4 year letter winner at UConn went to a Final Four (except Tony Robertson!) until Jalen Adams broke the streak in 2018.

Edit: Tony Robertson did win 6 NCAA Tournament games, just not all in one season.

5-1

Although I suppose that may not be an accomplishment

If we rattle off 3 more NCAA tournament appearances it looks like Hurley would have the uconn record for most consecutive appearances.

Our 10-1 record in the Final Four has to be some kind of record, in addition to being 5-0 in champ games. When we get there, we finish the job. Talking to you Tom Izzo.

I'm not sure I would place too much weight in that. While it does sound nice (and winning it all five times is no small feat) this is to some extent rewarding us for the years we didn't get there.

Were we better off than Duke in 1990? Were we better off than Florida (1994), Mississippi State (1996), UNC (1998) or Mason (2006) for falling short in seasons we could have made it?

If in any one of those years, if we could somewhat rewrite history and give ourselves one or two more wins before that season ended without a title how many would say "no, I'd rather lose where we did to preserve our final four record"?

While I'm at it, would we have been better off if we lost to Missouri in 2009?

We lead the world in bringing agony on Syracuse fans.
