UConn Men 37th in Average National Attendance

The figures mean nothing as someone said earlier, it's average attendance, not average capacity. The solutions however will always be the same, move all the games to campus, all unsold tickets should be sold at student prices the day of games. It is extremely hard to get a tickets as a student, if you want to see filled seats for every game, open them to the students at a discounted price Why are we playing Coppin State at the XL Center, at least play the god awful cupcake teams at Gampel where students can walk from their dorms, because I promise you, no college kid wants to drive 30 minutes sober, pay for parking, and watch Uconn win by 40.

Even though there is no attendance problem to begin with, This is not and will never be close to a solution.

What folks don't really seem to get is UCONN basketball never set out to be this Elite. Two guys named Calhoun and Auriemma were cocky enough and had the vision and moxy to take this blah state and turn it in to the basketball capital of the world! In many respects the general populous doesn't have a clue of how special 4 Men's and 10 Women's National Championships are! Forget about being the only school in history to win dual D1 National Championships (2004 & 2014) . For the most part not all but many in CT are spoiled and have no clue how special UCONN basketball is.

Our attendance is just fine. Put a "name" opponent on the schedule, UConn fans get excited and buy tickets. We sold out a 11am game vs Cincinnati. We had a 50/50 split in New Jersey for a regular season game against Dook. That was probably the most highly anticipated regular season game played in New Jersey in over 50 years. There is absolutely no reason to believe that our attendance this year will also be good given the higher expectations going into the season.
