UConn may play NC State on Dec. 5th at Mohegan; Florida game in doubt

So NC St. didn't want to participate in the Legends Classic but is now coming up here to play UConn? I wonder if they will now be participating in the Legends Classic and replacing someone else. Maybe UConn won't play in the Legends Classic as that twitter post the other day said? Hmmm.....

Slight downgrade, but still a very good OOC.

Very good backcourt and I'm excited to watch Cam Hayes.

Good early season test against Keatts' pressure D.

any other year this would be a major downgrade but if NC State is coming to us it saves a trip all the way to florida

thank god for the 20 game BE schedule. speaking of which- when is media day?

Odds on Florida coming up to Mohegan for the weekend and playing a round robin?

Next Wednesday.

Big East Media Day is on Wednesday, and the conference hopes to have at least its December schedule announced by then.

Just random but would anyone have interest in retaining an ongoing AAC "rivalry"? Maybe Memphis or Cincy?

I always enjoyed keeping old BE foes as part of the OOC schedule.

IIRC, part of the early exit agreement stated the basketball programs had to play AAC teams in Home and Homes. I just can’t recall the exact amount.

Definitely would like to keep things going with both/either IMO.

There are recruiting benefits of playing in Florida. How about UCF or USF?

as a general rule if youre traveling 1000+ miles it shouldnt be for a mid major. agree on the recruiting benefits but then schedule a H/H with FSU or Miami once our UF arrangement is over, otherwise not worth it

Really respect the Shockers of Wichita State...that would be my choice to renew a relationship.

I think it was 1 or 2 per year for 3 years.

4 H/H between mens and women's so probably two H/H each, although they should just give all 4 to the men we need a lot more help scheduling quality OOC

Good question, but personally I'd rather live in complete denial that the whole AAC thing ever happened (other than that Chip of course ;) ), and try to burn it out of my memory

In future years I would like us to try to schedule brutal out of conference so that as long as we win 18 games total we're in. A typical year should look something like this.

3-game MTE
Florida (H)
Ohio State (A)
Arizona (H)
Tennessee (A)
Yale (H)
Harvard (H)
Quinnipiac (H)
Iona (H)

aren't we playing florida in florida?
the title of this thread is "florida game in doubt." if not this year then it will be next year but we talking about future games we could play in FL

Cincy - absolutely, home and/or away or neutral. The one team I will miss a little from the AAC.
Temple - I would not mind seeing, just because most years it is a solid Northeast team and Philly is a great city to travel to. Even more than Cincy, I would like to keep the regional rivals, like Temple and Cuse alive.
Memphis - sure, every once in awhile, but I don't miss them.
Houston - maybe, if they are good/will be good AND come to Connecticut. If they are not good, stay far away and put them on the list at the bottom.
UCF - If only they still had Tacko, ha. Otherwise, NO! Add them to the list below....
SMU, Tulane, Tulsa, ECU, USF - GOOD RIDDANCE!

I still have to check the standings to make sure I get every AAC team because it is easy to forget. You don't have to do that with the BIG east.
