Hey guys. This is Richard,RU72.Long time. The site remains as the best.I will go on record as saying that if UConn is finally healthy, next season will be all UConn and LSU and the rest.LSU has the best class coming in and returns almost everyone. And you have queried about a tourney.I am told that it is Turks and Caicos, with both UConn and LSU there, but not playing against each other. I will go.As to today,I think that Kim comes up with the right defensive scheme if that scheme exists.Let's talk about a box and one or a variation of a triangle and 2.I see the game as so even that it is tough to call a winner, but I do feel that the total will easily exceed 150.Enjoy!

Hey Richard - it’s been a minute! Hope you’re well, it’s good to hear from you again

LSU loses Williams and Morris. They got LSU multiple wins in both the regular season and tournament. Yes, they add an uber-recruit in M. Williams, plus Del Rosario, but it may take them time to get acclimated. I don't see LSU as high as you do. I think top 5-10 is about right.

Morris should have been MOP. That's a big loss.

If you are correct, and Kim has the best recruiting class coming in, then UCONN will not beat them. Reese is like a modern version of Stewy. And they have several other barn burners. UConn will have players we know, but whose games we do not know ( Paige hasn't played in a year; Ice Brady hasn't played, period, Azzi may or may not find her game, Caroline is unlikely to ever escape concussion trouble. and Aubrey still has back spasms. Aside from that, we have some freshman who will be good but not as good ( per your observation) as LSU. Kim is back at Baylor with Griner and co. and who can beat them?

LSU does have the #1 recruiting class coming in but I don't think it's significantly better than the other top classes of UConn, SC, ND, and AZ

Calling Reese the modern version of Stewie is the wildest think I’ve heard spoken this week.

LSU has the number 1 class but this isn’t the 2019 or 2020 recruiting classes - not sure any freshman in this class are immediate impact players or will be in any sort of consideration for ALl American teams. I’d say what LSU is losing is a bigger short term loss than what they bringing in.

One quick thought, I think Morris and Poa's defensive effort on Clark has sortve been overlooked. It's an interesting issue because it kinda brought me back to Paige last year vs SC. They both at times had much smaller but quicker and experienced defenders on them. Obviously they still showed glimpses of great ess but particularly with Clark she never seemed to get her offensive game inside the arc going. Idk if the remedy for both of them is to be more ready to play in the post or with their back to the basket. Or even at the elbows in more of a triple threat position.

Moreover on the thread, UConn matches up well with LSU. Dorka vs Reese trash talking woulda been fun, but AE vs Reese would be fun as well. I do think between Poa and Flau'jae and Poole, they have defenders to throw at Paige and Azzi.

Reese is like a modern version of Stewy.
You can't possibly be serious. Reese is 4 for 23 in her entire career from 3-point range, and has 141 assists for her whole career with an A/TO ratio well below 1. She's a post player; Stewart is one of the archetypes (along with Delle Donne and a few others) for a new brand of superstar player who can do everything.

Reese is not anything like a modern version of Stewie. Don’t see the comparison at all.

Wow. What uplifting comments —1st of all
Please do not compare Brianna Stewart - one of the best basketball players of all time to Reese— the only thing I would give her is a her rebounding skills. She should have been hugging Clark after the game for bringing millions of fans to the women’s game and beating the gamecocks who had beaten LSU badly a short time ago. Very disappointed in her behavior and will be very happy when UCONN beats them next year.
For Ice, Aubrey, Azzi, Caroline and Paige not to recover would mean we have a very poor medical system in CT.
Even if one of these players continue to struggle we have top recruits coming in next year. You are also assuming LSU does not get hit with the injury bug.
I can go on an on but next year is a long way away and I am too focused on our men tonight.
A championship will re establish Connecticut as the basketball college capital of the world.

I doubt LSU makes it back to the Finals next year but who knows for sure. All about that skill development, players embracing their roles on the team, players staying healthy, and great coaching game management. As for UConn, anything is possible.
