Note under preferred qualifications:

“experience developing skills of guards”

Doesn’t sound like it’s Marisa’s job that’s being filled?

In addition to being surprised by the reference to experience developing guards, the preference for "coaching experience in the Northeast" is strange. Almost looks like the position has been wired for Chloe.

Or at least wired for somebody in particular

.-.
Heck, jump into the WABAC machine and Geno could not qualify for this position let alone the Head Coach position. How did he get the Head Coach job without all of this education and experience? CD must have written this job description. :D:rolleyes:

Of course they do. That's how it works. They knew Marisa was at least a serious candidate for the job and have been working on who would replace her.
So c'mon, UConnCat, tell us who you think it could be! Did Lister coach the guards? Did her brief tenure in the WNBA (7 games, 65 minutes of court time) count as WNBA experience? There are only so many people Geno could be 'targeting' with this odd yet revealing job posting. The "closing tomorrow' thing is my favorite. They don't actually want any applicants, as they clearly already have chosen their candidate, but I'll bet that the state of Connecticut has the requirement of a public job posting.

Yeah it's like when you are forced to post a job listing before being able to hire someone on an H1B visa. Those job postings are so specific virtually no one could possibly ever qualify.

Lister's 2015-16 resume is openly posted on the Uconn.edu site : link
Certainly looks like it's her, from the MS in Sports Management, right on down to the community services participation thing.

Makes sense. Geno and the staff loved Jasmine. She was first recommended to Geno by Sue Bird after she was cut by the Seattle Storm. Jasmine was so impressive at one of the USA Basketball training camps that Doug Bruno asked who she was. He eventually hired her to be an assistant on his staff after she spent a year on Mike Neighbors's staff at Washington. She did not follow Neighbors to Arkansas. The most important thing to Geno and Chris is not whether the person coaches guards or post players but whether he or she is a good person and the type of person they want to be around. Jasmine Lister would seem to fit the bill.

Good call.

.-.
Yeah. My money is on Lister. Geno will have to work it out with his friend Doug.

The .............. among us would be pleased too.

Jas is the whole package. In addition to the qualities already mentioned, she is very bright, articulate, energetic, and of good character.

There is "Minimum" experience and there is "Preferred". Three years experience is a "minimum". I don't believe Chloe has three years experience. Experience in the NE is "preferred", I think that means it can be waived for a strong candidate.

Valley? Lister? Berube? Sales?

If they hire Jasmine, do you think her twin sister Cinnamon could sneak in and fool Geno so that they could each work a game and then take the next one off knowing their twin is covering?

Fools Geno??? You are doing heresy now!

Well they are twins, and if one Lister is good, then wouldn’t twin Listers be even better? I think they could pull it off like the way the Olsen twins did on Full House. No one ever knew that the one role was being played by two different people.

I know she doesn't fill ALL the so called qualifications, but Kara Lawson would be very intriguing.

Hmmmm, sounds like Coach Jumper doesn't make the cut.

I'm wondering how "THE BONEYARD" submits a resume. It seems "we" have the recruiting thing covered, the in-game coaching "we" provide is far better than what the team has now, the medical advice "we" give is superior to any other, "we" can critique any and all players - not just limited to developing guards....what more could the team need?

Somebody may have already raised this issue, but it suddenly dawned on me that this job posting may have more to do with Shea rather than Marisa. With the imminent birth of her child, is it possible that Shea is planning to take some time away from coaching?

Is it now permissible to speak of the obvious? I raised this issue in the main Marisa thread with great circumspection. Raised without raising you see.:oops: So circumspect no one got it. The potential relevance of that which cannot be mentioned is obvious. Unfortunately we have only questions with no answers. Yes, time will tell. Time tells all; some of us have more time than others.

Rocky, unfortunately I missed your post, but in today’s day and age, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with discussing the very real issue that many expectant moms face when confronting the incredibly difficult challenge of balancing the demands of a newborn and their career.
