UConn is sixth in AP Poll for 2-23-2026

One fact people need to realize is that as long as half the members of this conference take until the non-conference season is over before they start playing well, the conference won't get a lot of respect from the powers that be.

I believe two schools (Seton Hall & us) didn't underperform this past November/December. Even if the conference as a whole started resembling the 2010-2011 Big East by mid-January it wouldn't have made much difference.

St Johns really hurt the league with their terrible start...though it;s understandable with a brand new team. St Johns losing 4 Ooc games to every decent team they played then having only 1 loss in Conf REALLY doomed schools on the potential bubble

Nova has been a pleasant surprise. they only lost to to Michigan and BYU, and beat Wiscy and Pitt...so a decent Ooc showing. SH only had 1 OOC loss and some P4 wins...

You want your 4-6 place teams to get a tourney bid, the top of the league needs to win a large % of its ooc games and those 4-6 place schools need a few good ooc wins

Michigan was entirely new, granted they had a couple bumps & close calls early. AZ had a ton of new parts, 3 freshmen.

StJ's specific case was simply that it had a lot of new parts and no PG to start.

We need to find this portal class' Mitchell. With a very offensive 5, I'm really hoping we go grab a beast at the 4 that does all the other things well.

#5 Houston already lost this week to #14 Kansas, and there is a legitimate possibility for each of the top 1-4 to lose a game before the week is done. Albeit unlikely, if these losses all were to come to fruition while UConn gets the job done against Seton Hall, would we be ranked #1 next week?

Matchups, for context:

Fri 8pm: #3 Michigan @ #10 Illinois
Sat 12pm: #1 Duke vs. #11 UVA
Sat 4pm: #2 Arizona vs. #14 Kansas and #4 Iowa State vs. #16 Texas Tech

Do we even care what happens 1-3? There is no way we can move up to a higher 1 seed is there? though dook loosing is always a treat.

Assume Houston losing is good so they don’t get the south, but other than that, what do we want?

I am the happiest when Connecticut wins, and almost as happy when Duke loses (and when Syracuse loses but that happens regularly).

I guess it’d be nice to see Duke lose it’s excuse to hang an “AP #1” banner

Seth Davis had difficulty acknowledging the dominance of the "24" championship team. Always making sniggling comments. What a total azzwipe he is.

These polls are all subjective
Are these polls not an aggregate of subjective same-topic individual votes that have objectively been solicited, submitted, recorded, tabulated, and published?

I'm wondering upon what basis could you possibly label such polls as "all subjective?"
