I’m all for respecting our history as much as anyone. But we’re just talking about Castle being a top 6 guard in the league for 2 seasons. Highly feasible for him.
He said double digit All NBA selections lol

From an NBA point of view when drafted, Cam is an undersized unathletic shooting guard. A great shooter and very good passer who wont be able to guard his position. In the NBA you have to be able to guard your position. Hes not 3 and D because he doesn't have the D.

Ive seen several of his games and his D looks pretty decent. The video posted talks about how he has improved on D.

Things I didn't see at Uconn. His range is ridiculous, as well as his ability to make contested 3s. He didnt have to do these things at Uconn due to his team being elite, he was very efficient. And who would have thought he would have games where hes the primary starting point guard with stats of 13 assists and 1 turnover?

So yes, Cam has outperformed all expectations. 10 million for 4 years for a guy who had not really proven himself in real NBA games was a great deal at the time. Maybe he blew them away in practice I dont know.

No colleges wanted this kid out of high school. Against all odds, Cam Spencer. Against even more odds, Pat Spencer. The documentaries Im sure will be coming out. Hard work, perseverance.
I don't think cam is unathletic. I just think guys like Spencer, Hauser, Duncan Robinson, Austin Reaves there are guys like that all over nba. Look at Nembhard, nba struggles to evaluate basketball players that are over age 22 and grew into pros. Easier to justify a salary on a young guy.

Hell, even go back to Brunson or even Fred Aman Fleet. How the hell they second rounder again? Same with Tyrese Martin.

Also, late first too. Payton Pritchard

No it didn't, anyone who has watched Cam Spencer play would see he's miles better than Ollie. He was injured his rookie season which set him back but when given an opportunity he showed out like he always does. In games last season he got 20 minutes or more he averaged 15 ppg and 4.3 assists. He scored 51 points on 12-15 three point shooting in a G league game last season.
I loved KO. But anyone who saw Cam play his senior year should have know. I watch a ton of nba, he was clearly an nba talent with his shooting and offensive skills.

Now, hard to evaluate grit and determination, and also difficult to see how he would defend PGs.

But, he was a guy who cleared a lot of players that we thought were nba guys.

Another grizzlies win, another Spencer masterclass with 19 efficient points to go along with a steal, 5 boards, and 5 assists.

I still think the Grizz should soft tank + trade Morant for assets, because a Coward / Spencer / Wells / JJJ (he's still really young) / Edey core needs another All Star type & they are not a free agent destination. That's a good young core, though, Cam is in a really nice spot.

morant is not tradable given his contract

I don't know what the numbers say but watching the games DC's defense isn't there, especially since he's come back from his most recent leg injury. Guys are scoring over him with ease, including Kawhi putting him on a poster tonight.

He’s also pretty soft in the paint offensively tbh. Hes been struggling to finish in traffic tonight.

His teammates never find him. These are two of the worst teams to watch in the league. Just a bunch of gunners and Kawhi is impossible to root for.

In this game at least, if there was any sort of traffic he struggled to get a good shot up in the paint.

Easily into double digit all NBA selections? Easily?

Ummm. Do you know how many people are on that all time list? I’d imagine it’s like 10 or less.

I said “I could easily imagine…” not that he would/could do it easily. And yes, I understand that’s probably a short list all-time, but his dunks make me think of Kobe Bryant and his stats are comparable to (arguably better than) Kobe’s at the same age. So, like I said, it “seems plausible enough.”

It's pretty hard to run a competent offense without a point guard.

So I decided not to be lazy this morning.

Actually 28 all time with double digits, and they only added the third team in late 80s. 10 players all time with double digit 1st teams.

Of the 28 on the list, I can’t comment on guys from 70s or earlier, but Chris Paul, Stockton, the Admiral, or the Mailman probably the worst players in my estimation (and that’s no knock on either of them).

Two members of the dream team are not part of any "the worst" anything

I have a feeling Cam is going to help Ja fix Ja. He was engaged with the team in a way that he hadn’t been for quite some time in last night’s game.

I just heard that Cam’s jersey has sold out at the team store - so he’s clearly a hit with that fan base.

I don't really understands the Blazers' offense. Clingan took 5 shots yesterday and 3 of them were three pointers. The good news is that he made all of them. He finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists on 3-5 shooting. I didn't watch so somebody who did watch let me know if this was Clingan's fault or not, but Brook Lopez exploded for 31 points. That's the most he's scored in 2 years

Cam with another great game. 19 points on only 6 shots (4-6 FG, 3-5 3P, 8-8 FT) along with 5 assists, 5 rebounds

Drummond had 2 points on 1-4 in 7 bench minutes. 4 rebounds

AJax got a few garbage time minutes. Nailed a logo 3 lmao

Hawkins DNP-CD. Sad.

You can be the worst of a bunch of greats, of course. And Karl Malone is a good example

Lopez made 9 threes, didn't make a single two pointer.
