It's sad the DJ experiment went on as long as it did. According to pretty much everyone around the team, he is a hard worker and great teammate. I hope he can be a backup somewhere.
He's not that bad of a QB, I think he's just rattled so much by constantly having to run fo rhis life and having no receivers or running backs or tight ends to throw to. I think a change a scenary like Darnold did could save his career.

The last 2 years he has been that bad. He's around better coaching and more talent around him and he's regressed greatly. He has better receivers( Nabors) better TE (Theo Johnson) a better line and better coaching as he's gotten worse.

Have you seen how inaccurate he's been, how many excuses can you make for the guy. He's has thrown red zone ints countless times. Has he been in a good situation no, but as a franchise qb you have to also overcome some shortcomings it's what makes a franchise qb.

He does need a change of scenery, he's a great kid and hard worker but he just doesn't have it between the ears like Eli did. The Mara's are in love with Jones to the point of incompetence.

Literally the only NY football team is in upstate and they're doing just fine.
I wonder if the UB message board has a "best wings" thread? I'm also a big fan of beef on weck, extra hot horseradish

For the longest time I defended him as not having enough time to throw because the OL was horrible and his outside receivers weren't great. However, this year proves me wrong. Nabers is going to be a beast and the OL has held strong. Even without a true running game he has just been awful. He was not a future QB. Just stinks because the incoming draft class has 0 future franchise QBs and IMO, would be a waste of a high draft pick. Yet, I'm sure the Giants will waste one on one of them.

If you wanted to gamble that Jones was the guy, in the draft, whatever... but they told everyone they wanted him desperately, backing themselves into a corner where they had to take him way too early. They could've traded back and still landed him plus had more chips to address the much more pressing issues they had at the time.

It was much more egregious to me when they decided that he was the one of Saquon & Jones to extend (I was team extend Saquon if you can find a number that protects the club), by that point you had seen what Jones was. His "good" season not-withstanding (which isn't that much better than this years numbers, he actually averaged his second fewest yards per game passing (to last year) in that season), he wasn't a franchise guy but people fell in love with the 4th quarter comebacks and decided he was the guy.

Saquon was offered a contract the one he took with the Eagles was the same amount of money.

I hope Haynes can turn things around. Right now, he's essentially third string behind Anthony Bradford (on IR) and now Sataoa Laumea, a 6th-round rookie pick. And they're both a couple years younger than Haynes, too. Last game he only played a handful of special teams snaps. The way the Seahawks' coaches talk, he's not strong enough yet to handle starting DLs in the NFL.

Which is surprising considering he was a hot name in the preseason and in a fight for the starting gig.

Boyle is like Orlovsky. Just manages to hang around and perform when needed.
Perform is am interesting term. Kid has an incredible arm. His development was probably killed by Diaco, at least in part. Backup/3rd string is probably one of the best jobs in pro sports. Good for him that he has managed that while legit college stars don't sniff an NFL roster.

Who here had Van Demark getting more PT than Haynes this year. Kid looks good.
I knew VDM would eventually become a starter, but would need more time to progress and Haynes would step right in and go. Rolls really reversed. I think Haynes will get significantly more playing time next year.
