UConn in the NFL

I know. There were 8 QBs on that list as well as the entire starting line for the Dallas Cowboys.

Defense was never the problem. Sigh.

So you're saying that our last two coaches got the full potential out of the talent on the roster?

Go ahead. Ignore the point. Let's pretend that we had a top 20 offense based on the talent alone.

>>Sherman’s base salary drops from $1.55 million to $1.1 million, but the salary is guaranteed, and it includes an additional $150,000 in workout and roster bonuses, a source said. The deal also includes $550,000 in achievable playing-time incentives, bringing the total potential amount back to the original total of $1.8 million.<<

49ers To Sign Undrafted Offensive Lineman Richard Levy

The San Francisco 49ers will sign undrafted offensive lineman Richard Levy, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.

Levy, who played his college football at the University of Connecticut, had tried out for the 49ers during camp this past weekend. Liking what it saw, San Francisco decided to bring him aboard.

The 24-year-old Levy played four years at UConn. He redshirted during his first season in 2012, and by 2014, he became a full-time starter at left tackle. The 6’6″, 316-pounder proceeded to start every game for the Huskies over the course of his final three seasons in college.

The 49ers need all of the help they can get along their offensive line.

San Francisco allowed 47 sacks last season, good for third-worst in the NFL. While Levy probably won’t immediately be a starter, he could help provide some depth for a unit that sorely needs it.

To say the 49ers are in dire straits right now is putting it lightly.

San Francisco is coming off a 2-14 campaign in 2016, its worst season since 2004 when it also won only two games.

The Niners have finished in last place in the NFC West the last two years and have not made the playoffs since 2013 when they lost to the division-rival Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game.

It’s hard to believe that this franchise is just five years removed from a Super Bowl appearance and three consecutive seasons of at least 11 wins.

Kind of surprised. I felt like he was stepping away but good for Dan O!
As the Courant article conveys, Orlovsky previously stated he hoped to continue vying for playing time. Should Dan stick with the Rams, he will have that potential opportunity. Good luck to DO.

I also felt like he wa stepping away but good for him. LA could use a veteran backup QB to help Goff become better. Best of luck to Dan in LA! Hope he still comes back when he finally hangs it up!
