“I just think where we are as a program, how well we've played and established ourself, we're at the point where that is our ultimate goal going into every season,” Hurley said on the phone from the team bus after the White House ceremony. “A championship-level focus. As nice as this was to do and as incredible experience as it is, I probably talked more about winning a third because it's September and not the middle of the summer.

“The mindset of the program is what we want to accomplish next. It is not lost on us, the enormity of what we're playing for this year. It is not just a regular season.”
