UConn in the NBA Oct 2025

No, you're arguing small details while ignoring the actual points we're making. Literally none of us are saying he shouldn't catch lobs and be a vertical spacer and dump off guy (that I've seen). We're saying working on his back to the basket post up game is less beneficial to his team than being a respectable 3 point shooter. Guys move around on the court. You can space from the perimeter, be a roll man, space from the dunker's spot, and grab offensive rebounds all on the same play. Camping in the paint (sorry I'll paraphrase what you said) "Having the mindset of controlling the paint at all times" works in moments and in some matchups, and in others you'd rather be setting a screen on the perimeter and then popping out for a 3 if the opponent is playing an aggressive hedging coverage.

The whole "he's not providing any space" is exactly the point. He needs to show he's a threat from there to generate the space (and one screenshot caught mid action with no context doesn't actually prove he's not lol). To do that, he has to practice and take and make the shots. You have to earn the respect.

He already "controls the paint" on the defensive side of the court. He's trying to expand from being a one dimensional player to a multi-dimensional one, and as someone else pointed out, he's likely focusing on improving his skills in the paint, too.
Your point is that he should also have a 3 point shot to go along with everything else.

I don’t see that being necessary when he’s so good at that other thing. Him being at the rim will ALWAYS provide spacing and a rebounding threat on a shot that if the teams don’t account for him on, he will shoot close to 100%.

You won’t convince me that him spending any time away from that trying to make teams respect him taking a 35% shot is smart. That also takes away from him being a rebound threat. If I am a team playing the Blazers I’m baiting them into that shot and happy any time he wants to let us off the hook like that to make rebounding easy for us.
Anthony Edwards wasn't the best three point shooter in the league last year, lolz.

He was 48th in the league in three point percentage, he just took over 10 per game.
He made the most 3s in the NBA last year.

He made the most 3s in the NBA last year while shooting 48% from 3. You are literally the worst of this clique of responders with the dumbest posts.
He shot 39.5% from three last season, 48th best three point percentage in the league. You're an absolute mess, you changed handles and somehow became even worse.

For example, Ant wanted to improve becoming a better 3 point shooter and became the best 3 point shooter in the league last year.

You're giving your age (or mental age) away. The only people hyping Ant up like that are in middle school. Most 3s =/= best shooter. Get a grip and stop being disingenuous. Steph Curry may be an old head by NBA standards, but he was the best shooter in the league last year. 6% better than Ant on more attempts and tighter coverage. C'mon now bud.

You literally lied and this post has 6 likes.

And people wonder why it’s easy to be the “smartest in the room” on this board.
In 611's book, being mistaken about stats is called a lie, oh wait,...

Again, the lack of self-awareness is mind blowing.

Seth Curry

I don't think HuskyWarrior is 12 years old which makes his posts even more troublesome.

Seth shot 1/10th of a percent better than Steph (ridiculous) but his volume was less. Steph shooting 46% from deep at his age in the league is absurd.

Then the guy goes out and goes toe to toe with Dechambeau on his Youtube channel.

Meanwhile I'm Steph's age and can't get out of bed until I give my back and jaw a crack and stretch. Sometimes life isn't fair

If you got paid to play a sport....and have been for years, you'd be in waaaaay better shape...all of us would. If only....

This is why we continually remind you that you are not smarter than NBA coaches.

You say this like all NBA coaches are thinking the same.

We’ve seen the Thunder, a team who just won the championship, bring in a center dedicated fully to playing around the rim.

Mitchell Robinsons vs Karl Anthony Towns +\- in the Celtics series last year…

there’s a reason we’re seeing this trend of bigs who shoot 3s getting moved to the 4 in place of guys who stick around the rim…. From other NBA coaches.

You’re unfathomably stubborn. This is your opinion. Let’s end this conversation and focus on results from our guys. We don’t need to continue to hijack this thread.

Just agree this is enough and move on PLEASE.

I could also call you stubborn for not paying attention to results that drove wins

You didn't hear about it? Anthony Edwards was the best shooter ever last season, he shot 100% from three. This season he will be Michael Jordan.

Agree, but at 429’s age bones and joints shouldn’t be an issue. FYI…exercise helps with joints too. And def helps with bone density

My thrice dislocated shoulders and jaw would like to have a word with you. Don't play combat sports kids. Leave it to the Dagestanis

Like to see Clingan morph towards a Bill Walton type ceiling, pretty high standard to get to but good passing and guarding the basket should be Donovan's early focus and get better at rebounding and then offense around basket. He is still 21 years old (Karaban will be 23 in a few days).

Saw this on Twitter and thought it was funny and coincidental. Coming from a guy fully capable of popping and taking a 3. Lol

What are you lol'ing here? What are you commenting on with this post? I'm confused, did people say that Wemby shouldn't ever roll to the hoop on a pick and roll?
