Good question LOLDoes that make Doc a casual coach?

This was my biggest frustration with him at UConn. Drove me crazy.AJ gotta stop passing out of wide open layups, you can't cut to the basket, get the pass and then be scared to go up and get a layup/dunk
Castle has missed games? The Spurs are not supposed to be way better, they were projected to take a step towards possible play-in tournament, and that’s kinda where they sit right now. Plus, their 2nd and 3rd best players have missed a combined 19/30 possible games.
Crazy he misses all of training camp, the preseason and doesn’t even go to the D league as a warmup game. Hope he gets consistent playing time.Crazy to think that no D1 college teams wanted Cam Spencer coming out of high school and there he was the other night playing in the NBA.
Seven years ago, Cam Spencer was a high school basketball player with zero college offers, no recruiting profile on ESPN or 247Sports, nobody outside of his family, high school and AAU coaches believing he had a shot to make it in Division I.
On Wednesday night, he stepped onto the court for the first time as an NBA player with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Former UConn star Cam Spencer makes NBA debut with Grizzlies
Spencer made his NBA debut Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers, playing in the first game he was available for after recovering from a sprained ankle ahead of the season.www.courant.com

Steph had a rough start but closed the game strong... including a massive slam!

I'd take that. I'd cash 2 future wagers.Steph and DC share NBA rookie of the year - another BY dilemma solved
They must like him. Memphis is a good team.Crazy he misses all of training camp, the preseason and doesn’t even go to the D league as a warmup game. Hope he gets consistent playing time.
Cam has determination to the point of insanity. We’ve had some intense players through the years like Donny Marshall but Cam is in a class by himself. He was even more intense than Hurley .Crazy to think that no D1 college teams wanted Cam Spencer coming out of high school and there he was the other night playing in the NBA.

I think Stephon has such a calmness about him, that it is easy to underestimate his full impact. While, a high ranked freshman, I know I did not project him #4 in my mind in the 2024 draft early in the season. Only in mid January did I start to appreciate everything elite he brought to the table and the consistency he delivered it. By the draft, going #4 did not surprise me at all.I mean, fine. But Steph has had a huge impact offensively with his driving and elite ability to find open shooters on skip passes.
T Newt is on the bench for thr Pacers tonightLot of games today
NBA -
Nets (Tyrese if it's a blowout) vs 76ers (Drummond)
Pelicans (Hawkins, currently ruled questionable due to injury) vs Warriors
Bulls (Sanogo if it's a blowout) vs Hawks
Blazers (Clingan) vs Rockets
Bucks (Andre) vs Pacers (Newton if it's a blowout)
G League -
Indiana (Newton if he's with them instead of the NBA team, and Polley) vs Sioux Falls
Santa Cruz (Calcaterra) vs Salt Lake City
Portland (Bouknight) vs Suns
Pacers have been struggling - maybe their attempt to try to mix it up and put some heat on the usuals.T Newt is on the bench for thr Pacers tonight
Can’t believe the success that Tik Toker is having. They can’t keep both small guards long term though.I was worried about Brandon Boston's play with all of the Pelican's injuries potentially eating into Hawkins minutes, hopefully he's able to get back into the groove he was in early in the season. On another non-UConn note I'm shocked at how good Jared McCain looks, Sixers struck gold getting Maxey and McCain at those draft spots.
I hope Bouk straightens himself out mentally and gets back to the league. I know his antics rubbed people the wrong way and it may be a longshot, but he was such a big factor in getting us out of the abyss, it’s a comeback story I’d like to see.Yesterday NBA -
Drummond: 10 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, 50% FG
Hawkins: 20 minutes back from injury, 6 points on 2-9 (1-5 3P)
Andre: 20 minutes, scoreless (0-5) but 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block
Newton: 3 points in 2 minutes
Clingan: 20 minutes, 9 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 57% FG and 1-3 from three
G League -
Calcaterra: 12 minutes, 6 points on 2-2 3P
Bouknight: 17 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 38.9% FG (7-18) and 0-5 from 3
Bouk has elite talent. Great to see him grab 10 boards. Gives me hope that he will put in the work to get back to the league.I hope Bouk straightens himself out mentally and gets back to the league. I had the same thought. That move was typical Tristen.I like the Newton's 1st points came on something we've seen him do for two years.
