The Spurs are not supposed to be way better, they were projected to take a step towards possible play-in tournament, and that’s kinda where they sit right now. Plus, their 2nd and 3rd best players have missed a combined 19/30 possible games.

Obviously it isn't going to happen to everyone... but, as I told every kid I coached: If you put in the work, you will reach heights you didn't expect. But it takes MUCH more work than you can possibly imagine.

I only played D2 basketball, but as the short and fairly unathletic guy I needed to outwork EVERYone. My teammates had social lives, and I was taking hundreds shots a day for 6 years.

I mean, fine. But Steph has had a huge impact offensively with his driving and elite ability to find open shooters on skip passes.

I think Stephon has such a calmness about him, that it is easy to underestimate his full impact. While, a high ranked freshman, I know I did not project him #4 in my mind in the 2024 draft early in the season. Only in mid January did I start to appreciate everything elite he brought to the table and the consistency he delivered it. By the draft, going #4 did not surprise me at all.

On another non-UConn note I'm shocked at how good Jared McCain looks, Sixers struck gold getting Maxey and McCain at those draft spots.

Pacers have been struggling - maybe their attempt to try to mix it up and put some heat on the usuals.

I can see a team like Memphis keeping Cam with the big team purely for culture, as well as production. When you have a kid like that around working his tail off, it sets a tone for the rest of the group. I know Edey is a hard worker as well. That stuff tends to be contagious.
