I don't have a problem with that. The real shame is that Embiid got the award over Jokic. Some voters led by Perkins were on a crusade not let Jokic get it again that year.
Eh Embiid had a great season in ‘23. He was deserving as well

What settled it was Embiid dominating Jokic at home and then setting out in Denver. Lol

looked like Durant put his foot under him when he came down on the three (judging by the replay which i've now watched 8 times because Cam is a total psycho and I love this ). Grizz fans are loving it too. they want him in the lineup more now.

I saw an interview somewhere where Isaiah Thomas was saying that Larry Bird would be great in today’s game. He says Bird was just like Jokic. I never really thought about it but then when I started paying attention, the similarity was there.

I love Cam. Had played a total of 6 and a half minutes total since early January.

Comes in for 19 minutes, scores 16 points, talks trash to one of the best players in the history of the NBA, hits 2 clutch FTs to help his team win the game

Not 1 bit of that is surprising at all

Nice day yesterday

Tyrese - 14 points on 4-8 three point shooting (but 5-14 overall)

Cam - 16 points in 19 minutes, 5-9 shooting and 4-7 from three

Castle - 14 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, but 4-12 shooting

Clingan - 15 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 blocks on 6-9

Clingan got extended run in the second half too. Sat final 5 minutes of the third and then played the whole fourth effectively (minus the last 40 seconds). Maybe he’s in a little better game shape after his two stints on injured reserve.

Castle also only 4-8 from the FT line. He's been having some issues at the charity stripe lately for whatever reason.

Larry Bird is a great player in ANY era, not just today.

Steph with 2 relatively quiet games in a row. I feel like once he moves into the starting lineup (get that surgery, Fox!) he'll be able to put up bigger numbers, even though he's almost playing starter minutes off the bench currently.

Kenyon Martin would've murked them.

He’s right, I’ve always thought it was funny anybody puts up with hazing. The castle thing is different cause they just pranked him, but I’m not actively participating in any nonsense just cause you call it hazing/tradition. Especially if I’m built like a professional athlete.

Sam Vecenie released his latest rookie rankings at The Athletic, and he wrote in-depth about Castle (#2) and Clingan (#7). Even though he still has Jaylin Wells as his Rookie of the Year pick, he wrote glowingly about Castle as the best long-term prospect in the draft, and was very positive about Clingan as well.

If you made me bet on one player to be an All-Star at this point from this class, I think my pick would be Castle. The skills he’s showcased — particularly within the new calendar year — have given me hope that there is real unsettled upside here as he continues to grow into his game. He’s also good enough to be on the court now, which should allow him to keep getting better as he gets more reps. This is a definite hit for the Spurs at No. 4 in the draft. They should be very happy with their pick, and if Castle keeps playing like this, he has a good shot to end up as my selection for Rookie of the Year in the final surge.
