Cam got 7 points in 15 mins last night in a loss. Doubt he carves out a role this year as he has been injured and the Griz are very good already , but wouldn’t put it past him.

DC had a double double, 11 pts 13 boards. Seems to be playing better since being inserted in the starting lineup. I still worry a bit about his offensive skillset.

Steph is also now in the starting lineup as Fox is out for season. He put up 23-8-3 last night. Got in foul trouble early but had a big second half. He is a huge favorite for ROTY currently, and is only going to get more opportunities and minutes. Huge for him and the program. I know I wax lyrical about him a lot, but I think by his 3rd season he will be a 22-6-5 type of guy. He is special.

Steph was 2 points away from me having a big hit last night. Smh

The Spurs are feeding him shots and he’s taking them. He misses a lot he should be making but I’m happy he’s getting a feel for what he needs to work on.

It’s going to be a big summer for him coming up and I expect the experience he’s getting this year to pay huge dividends.

Last night was a BAD night for Hawk:(

Steph's March stats are excellent:

20.7 ppg (48.8/33.3/67.7), 4.2 rpg, 4.0 apg, 0.2 bpg, 0.9 spg, 2.5 tpg.

He's scored 20+ points 20 times this season; no other rookie has done it 10 times.

Cling Kong with a solid game, though he really doesn't shoot much outside of cleanup putbacks or alley oops. Though he did swish his only 3 when the other team dared him to shoot. Lol

Had the best +/- on his team last night.

He's been pretty good since the ASB: 9.5 rpg and 1.9 bpg. Scoring is, as you say, mostly mop-up: 7.4 ppg on 54%.

I was wondering about the 3-point shooting. He's made 9 of 32 (28%). Not terrible for a 7'2" rookie.

I like Clingan to improve the next several years, but his floor is very high. He doesn't have the star potential of Castle, but won't be surprised if he hangs around the league 15 years as a team's starting C. Annual contender for DPOY is what I expect soon.

Agreed. Never going to be great offensively but his defense is otherworldly and his teams just win when he's on the court.

To me he can become a better version of Rody Gobert that actually has some kind of offensive game.

Gobert isn't exactly Jokic, but until this year, he consistently averaged 13-16 ppg over 8 seasons, on sky-high FG percentages (lots of dunks). I agree, Clingan has the potential to be a better offensive player.

One thing that needs to change with Clingan on offense is he needs to dunk the ball. Too many times around the basket he tries to go finesse and lay it up and either misses or gets blocked. He's gotta channel the same aggression and mindset he has on D and the boards on offense when trying to score.

He's never had great touch at the rim despite his great hands elsewhere

Clingan isn't a great scorer, but there are two things he does that helps the Blazers offense tremendously. He sets excellent screens. He also is such a threat for an offensive rebound, a decent number of teams have to double him which leaves others to get the rebound. Not stat generating things but things which bring huge value. Similar to the number of times other teams have players drive to the rim and just turn around when they see him.

Defensively that team is very interesting with him and Camara. It could be even better if Thybulle works himself back into the rotation also. When the Blazers are in attack mode, they are fun to watch. Avdija is very good.

I’m glad to see that our latest lottery picks, Steph and DC, are having great rookie seasons. Otherwise, it appears that the UConn “brand” is struggling. AJ seems to almost be out of the Bucks rotation, and Hawk is up & down with a Pelicans team that’s still lousy. Anyone seen any updates lately about James Bouknight?

In better UConn news, Hawkins had 25 on 8-13 shooting and 6-11 from 3 with Zion out.

Also won me a nice chunk of change. Our huskies respect the coin.
