UConn in the NBA Jan 2026

I just flipped on the Bucks/Spurs game for Jackson and Castle purposes and to my great disgust, they started playing a legit commercial DURING free throws. The window displaying the game shrank off to the side while the screen was dominated by an ad literally while a player was taking shots. Is this par for the course on NBA broadcasts?

I changed the channel as quickly as I could after overcoming my shock and horror with the hope of being one small data point in feedback that the ad placement actively turned away a viewer.

Castle hooped today - good to see.
And the last game he played well even though they lost to the Thunder. He had a rough 2-3 game stretch before that where whenever I was clicking through to the box score of a Spurs game I was like this:

Scared Spongebob GIF

I watch every spurs game. Spurs offense has been shaky at best. Too many players taking quick shots. Harper and Castle have been playing way out of control. The spurs are at their best when they continually pass the ball to get a good shot. That’s been lacking these past few weeks. Wemby should be the focal point on offense but instead they just launch 3’s or recklessly drive towards the paint.

Love this show man.

Wade breaking down the art of the Euro

UD teaching the art of good screens

Extra pro tip on how rolling to the rim hard on plays like this can lead to easy offensive rebounds on misses from UD.

These guys are great.

Let me euro on Taylor rooks

castle's turnover issue is pretty weird. some games he'd be really on it and have 0 or 1, but often he's just reckless/too ambitious with the ball. it's not a lack of handle or feel issue but a judgement/risk evaluation thing.

Pre-frontal cortex isn't fully developed until mid-20's. Give him time.

The prefrontal cortex helps with attention, emotions, self-control and decision-making. This part of your brain sits behind your forehead. It takes time to fully mature and doesn’t finish developing until your mid-20s.

Not UConn related but Johnni Broome did this last night.

Damn I'm so happy college basketball has legitimate future stars who are running the sport this year.

Andre had a season high 7 points in 10 minutes?
My dream is that the Nuggets owners cheap out this summer and, after having to pay Watson, they trade Cam Johnson & Christian Braun to get under the tax. Then they pick up AJax for basically nothing to fill Braun's role and he becomes their defensive stopper/one-man fast break.

From what little I know about the Nuggets, it does seem like that’d be an ideal fit for AJax.

The Braun role involves shooting and playing offense

The Johnni Broome?

The Braun role involves shooting and playing offense
His offense consists entirely of cutting, screening, leaking out on fast breaks and shooting stationary, catch-and-shoot 3s. He never puts the ball on the floor and isn't at all the passer that AJax is.

Put our guy in that system playing off of Joker and Murray, and playing for a really good coach in Adelman instead of Doc, and he'd be a huge asset.
