Want to know about how great of a stat PPP is? Check out the league leaders in it.

Names like Bradley Beal and Isaiah Jackson making their way to the top 3 in their categories was especially hilarious.

Nic Claxton is a top 10 iso guy in the league, apparently.

Clingan has a higher PPP on spot ups than Tim Hardaway Jr??

Oh yeah, let’s get him taking 10 threes a game because clearly he’s a specialist.
You failed to control for games played and volume.

Here you go – 20+ games, at least 2 post-ups per game. Four of the top five guys are future Hall of Famers.

With this filter you also eliminated names like

Joel Embiid
Kawhi Leonard
Franz Wagner
Brandon Ingram
Kevin Durant
Lauri Markenen

Only 18 players in the whole league fit that filter.

This is you with these advanced analytics rn

Still on a high from that Providence game last night but a lot of action in the pros

Clingan: 12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block on 5-9 (2-6 from three)

Castle: 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 2 turnovers. 6-10 shooting (0-2 3P, 3-3 FT)

Cam: 14 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals on 5-11 (4-6 from three). 3 turnovers

Hawkins: 15 minutes, no points on 0-2. 3 blocks (?!), 2 turnovers

Drummond: 11 points in 12 minutes, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block. 3-6 overall, 2-3 from three and 3-4 FTs. I am very confused

Liam: 7 points on 1-4 shooting, all from three. 4-6 on FTs

Bouknight had 16 points and 7 rebounds in the G League, although on 3-11 (3-8 3P, 4-5 FT)

Newton had a great game with his new G League squad. 33 points and 7 assists on 13-21 shooting (3-9 from three)

Thank you for posting about the topic! We're turning the corner on getting a broad array of UConn talent back in the League.

Feel like I’d be the last person to point this out. But Clingan was actually 2-6 from three 😄

This thread should be a celebration of how well our guys are doing in the league instead it's a cat fight. Cam Spencer had a fantastic game that he finished off in remarkable fashion and it was barely mentioned.
Seriously, take the "Does DC need to be shooting 3's" BS to another thread.

This may be my last post on this, idk.

But the funniest part is if you just did it by 1 possession this would be the top 5. So you really purposefully did the 2 to try and make this stat seem more important than it was lmaooo

Last night, Clingan swished his first three. When he missed his next, the play-by-play guy said, "I'm surprised, when Donovan shoots the 3, I expect it to go in." Not just him, the scout is out on DC. He draws the other teams big away from the paint. That way their star can go for 41 against a Top 3 defensive team in a big upset. His 3 point shooting is now a part of the offense that has the longest winning streak in the league.

Ah, such a bummer that his ability to spread the floor helps his team.

The former NBA player commented on Donovan’s footwork and ability to go right back up after a rebound right afterwards. Why didn’t you include that in this?

This is all within the first 2 minutes of the game. You are not living in reality.

The reason to control for volume is that post-ups are low-percentage shots to be used VERY selectively for all but a few players. If a guy's only getting one post touch per game despite putting up 1.2 points per possession, that should tell you he's only posting in late-clock, emergency situations or against mismatches.

The fact that there are so few guys who get even 2 post touches a game tells anyone with a working brain this exact thing, by the way.

You continue to be the most remarkably bad poster this board's had in a long, long time.

In Clingan’s first stint I captured 9(!!!) different instances of him hovering on the 3 point line and Houston bigs completely sagging off to stop drives. If I could put them all in one post I would.

The only time Adams guarded Clingan out to the 3 point line is when he was going to set a screen which Deni rejected to get to the basket both times.

But yall can continue to show how little you know and don’t understand what you’re watching by lying and saying what he’s doing is providing floor spacing.

Sure Jan GIF

Have fun with your stat that says John Collins is better in the post than Jokic.

They won the game, DC is playing the best ball of his career thus far. YOU are not living in reality. YOU should watch more hardwood classics featuring double bigs and labored post scoring. YOU hate that Clingan can do something other than catch a lob or go up with an offensive rebound. Weird stuff, man.

But he played high school basketball once upon a time in Connecticut. He knows way more than an NBA franchise valued at well over $4 billion.

You made a statement saying he was providing spacing doing what he did. I showed proof that it’s not the case.

Now you’re moving goalposts talking about other stuff to make up for the fact you were saying anything.

FTFY
You say this, but you and everyone on this board would find it really annoying if I went and graded every instance of DC on the perimeter and how they guarded him.

In the first quarter alone there were 9 where they helped off of him. Just let it go and accept facts man.

So him being in the post would have provided more space for Avdija to work? That makes sense.

Also the second picture you provided is simply fine spacing lol. You’re a genuine insane person.

Two still photos isn't proof of what he did during the entire 31 minutes - anymore than his 9 games shooting 2 for 25 from the three are proof that he shouldn't be shooting threes given he is 31 for 71 from three (44%) in the other 29 games they have played.

Did you watch the entire game? I did and there were plenty of times he was covered on the outside opening up the middle for Avdija, Sharpe and Camara. The Blazers' announcers even commented on how much difficulty Adams was having getting out to DC to cover his outside shot.
