If you're a Castle fan you should be ecstatic. Spurs have themselves the best big 3 in the NBA for many years, they're going to be talked about all the time, they're going to be on TV all the time, and they're going to win NBA championships. As one of the big three all of this is amazing for Castle.

But dude, he should want to go to Sac with Lavine and score 25! It’s better for his career!

Setting yourself up to be an All-Star and All-NBA to trigger incentives for a supermax contract to get paid as much as possible is indeed better for your career.

Players on winning teams tend to get more All Star nods and All NBA nods. Look no further than Fox this year and last.

That NBA money is different. The difference between a 1st option and a REALLY good #3 is 8-9 figures over the course of a career

Castle is going to have a very successful career regardless. We know he's willing to take a back seat and do the dirty work to win championships. And this Spurs team inevitably will win championships

But with Wemby having guaranteed max/supermax extensions whenever available, and Fox demanding a max in 2 years when his contract is up, do they ask Castle to start taking paycuts before he's 25 years old?

If I could sign a $100M contract and win 3 rings or sign a $200M contract but not win a ring....idk that $200M seems nice to me haha

I take back everything I said. Castle popping off for 30+

GO GET THOSE RINGS

NBA refs hate Castle. He fouled out today on a terrible call. Wish I could find it. Meanwhile someone has to tackle him to get a call on the other end.

He had 10 6 and 6 in 23 minutes today still. He’s really becoming the lead guard there even with Chris Paul and has been doing a great job of distributing.
Sure they do: the college refs who all hate UConn told their NBA brethren to extend the hate into the pros. They’ve even convinced St Peter not to let em through the pearly gates.

Too bad it’s not either/or, that’s why everyone disagrees. Some guys go that route and fade away.

Acting like he’s a guaranteed success if handed the ball now but not if he’s with Wemby and Fox is inherently flawed.

If Castle is a 200M player by himself then he’s probably one on SA too.

Castle had some nice plays!

A couple of those quick changes of direction were insane. Kind of wish he never got hurt so that version of him could have come out more while he was here. But the year turned out ok, I think.

It‘s going to be really remarkable in a couple years to think that a team played us in the Final Four and put in a game plan where they didn’t even bother to guard him.

There are plays here that a rookie should not be able to make. He’s a really special player. 3-5 from three and 10-11 from the FT line too….the league has to watch out and the Spurs would be wise to start planning out how to get him more minutes

fingers crossed. “The buyout will free up a roster spot and also some cap space for Brooklyn, although it’s unclear how much.

Guard Tyrese Martin is on a two-way contract that he has clearly outperformed.

He has never logged a single minute with G League Long Island, and is approaching his game restrictions in the NBA. Brooklyn could conceivably convert him to a standard deal.”

He has a chance to be the best player ever from UConn in the NBA and yes I know Ray Allen played here.

His change of pace, Euro step, finishing through contact, size/strength, and athleticism are all already as elite as it gets. He gets his head on the rim all the time now.

If he gets a consistently good jumper which will come you're looking at a superstar.

Castle looks even more explosive in the pros, I'm sure another year older and an NBA S&C program helps but further being removed from that knee clean-up he had probably plays a big factor.
I watched a lot of tape on him when he was a high school senior and I never thought he would become this type of athlete. He was a great player but he never showed this type of explosiveness. We saw some flashes last season but he's already an elite of the elite athlete in the NBA. Dude has caught more bodies than anyone this season and he's getting his head on the rim.

And people here were saying that Castle wasn't anymore athletic than a freshman who didn't play a game at the time. I think after seeing McNeeley that Castle is definitely a level above McNeeley in that department and l think McNeeley is great. Steph is a great player snd showed out in the final four that potential last year.

Clingan just had a defensive possession with 3 blks(he was robbed by the statisticians), with the final one on Terrence Shannon Jr like old times
This makes me wish my free League Pass didn’t just run out.

Hawk had one of the emptiest stat lines for a guy playing 18+ minutes the other night against Sacramento.

Yeah, it was pretty much 0s across the board. I remember going "OOOF" when I saw his line.

A little bit of a bummer. Castle had a good game going offensively but only got 20 minutes … so he ended up with 16 on 7-9 shooting on a day he might have gone for 25-30 if given more time.

He was out there during a Wizards run so his +/- wasn’t good. But seemed like he needed more second half run over Barnes and Vassell when he was cooking.

His finishing has become great, and his shot has looked better. But, it kind of coincides with him looking a bit lazier on defense lately.
