For anybody that has access to the Tik Tok app must search for Andre Jackson. There are a number of highlights of AJ with incredible dunks and blocks. He is one of the most athletic players I have ever seen. My apologies for not providing a link I was having difficulty trying copy here. He is worth the watch.

Following AJ stats in his game tonight. His defense must be why he is in the lineup, no points, 1 rebound, 0-4 from 3. Haven’t seen his other games but see the box scores. Apparently the Bucks win with him in there.

Mid-season tournament netted him over 650k from Quarters, Semis and Championship for him. Not bad considering his salary.
I don't think that's how it works -- the bonuses aren't additive round to round. From NBA Cup prize money: How much players make for winning title as bonuses increase in 2024

Players on all eight teams that made the knockout round receive monetary bonuses. But there's a major difference in what players will receive if they win the NBA Cup vs. just making the quarterfinals and losing. Here's a breakdown of the compensation amounts for players that make it past the group stage:

  • Players who lose in the quarterfinals: $51,497
  • Players who lost in the semifinals: $102,994
  • Players who lose in the championship game: $205,988
  • Players who win the NBA Cup: $514,971

Nevertheless, he makes $1.89M this year. So it's a cool 27% holiday bonus.

It's his defense (he ate Shai up) and his connective passing. He's also shot it decently from 3 this year so far, so in that regard this game was a negative outlier.

Bottom line, though: he was +12 on the night, and on the season the Bucks are +10.5 when he's on the court.

Winning player whether he makes a shot or not.

Yes, I hate watching teams shoot 50 threes in a game. There's no balance in today's NBA. It's become a three point shooting contest and it's no longer much fun to watch.

You mean stats don't tell the whole story in a flowing team game? I will have you know that is blasphemy my good man! The Bucks are a winning team since he's started.

It doesn't look pretty in the box score (except, I guess, for plus/minus, but 1-6, 0-4, 3 rebounds, 1 assist to 2 turnovers), but the Bucks keep winning with Andre Jackson in the lineup and you wonder if Doc will continue to ride the hot hand out of superstition if nothing else.

They'll continue to ride him b/c he's their only option for point of attack defense.

I get the impression Giannis loves AJ’s intensity and playing with him. Part of the reason for the improvement in team’s performance. Doubt Doc will mess with his stars happiness.

Bucks don’t need another scorer as plenty of horsepower there with Lillard and Giannis. Lillard is also a bad defender, so Ajax is the perfect compliment to that roster as he essentially plays the role of perimeter Rodman. Least we not forget defense is half of the game. 5 guys wanting to take shots as their primary mindset has never worked in basketball.

I’ve watched him a bunch. His defense and his passing are very good. On offense he stands in the corner or in the dunker spot and basically stays out of the way so dame and Giannis have space. He doesn’t really get to show his ball handling skills and playmaking ability often but he’s doing what he needs to do the team. He also is good at annoying the other team. Amazing that he’s starting for a team with huge goals as second round pick.

Agree. Just adding Giannis is an intense player. Playing alongside AJ who plays defense intensely probably increases the motivation of Giannis. Cam loved playing for Hurley because of his intensity. Same with Liam. Like minded attitudes reinforce people.

When Dre was on the bench, they lost a bunch. When they made him a starter, they won a bunch. Even a dummy like me can follow that basic logic!

I love AJ but he is damn lucky to play on a team with so many offensive weapons. They don't need him to score - he needs to defend.
If he gets traded to another team he better work on his offense.
Nevertheless, AJ has done well for himself - Great job!!!
