Dunks are worth 3 is a really interesting concept. Kinda like it.

In Portland and hitting game tonight - bummer Steph is out.

So make the game even worse umm no. There's not gonna be a simple or quick solution.

It's wild how infrequently I see someone dunk on someone in the NBA nowadays, the dunk is practically reduced to an open court thing now.

Donovan looks pretty deconditioned in this one. Lot of jogging. One thing with him is how quickly it feels he can fall out of shape. Hopefully not a career long trend.

I'm thinking a UConn fan would note that the Blazers were down 66-62 with 6:05 remaining in the 3rd when Clingan came in. They scored 26 points in those 6 minutes and were up 8 when the 4th started. That is some mighty fine joggin', imo.

I’ll be the first one to high five a UConn guy in the NBA for the positive +/-. Not a lot of the + with him on the floor was because of Cling, it was because Grant couldn’t miss. Cling looked sluggish similar to November last year.

That said they could have benefited by having him on the floor during the last possession as there was no one one out there that could guard Wemby.

Yesterday NBA -
  • Clingan is back. 15 minutes, 6 points, 7 rebounds, 3-6 FG
  • Sanogo - 7 minutes, 2 points, 4 rebounds (3 offensive), 1-2 FG
  • Drummond - 7 points, 8 rebounds, 3-6 FG
G League -
  • Newton - 13 points, 12 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, but 4-16 FG
  • Bouknight - 18 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 blocks, 5-13 FG
  • Polley DNP

DC's block streak in jeopardy tonight
It’s weird, he broke up a lob, and based on the timing, I thought it should have been recorded as a block. I guess the official scorers disagreed. Oh well.

Kind of funny that if there's a deflected shot and someone else catches it, the deflector gets credit (a block), but if there's a deflected pass and someone else catches it, the catcher gets credit (a steal).

Speaking of not showing up in the box score, Andre Jackson getting some good run to start the NBA Cup semis for Milwaukee. He was a tremendous boon to my parlay involving 1st quarter Unders (both sides!). Then he went out and everyone started scoring. Nice to see Doc trust him in a big game and with a tough matchup like Trae Young.

Just AJax in the NBA last night with 5 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals on 2-4 FG (1-1 from 3). He’s shooting 46% from 3 in the month of December and is at 38.1% on the season, higher than teammates Dame Lillard/Bobby Portis/Brook Lopez/Khris Middleton/Pat Connaughton although on much lower volume

Calcaterra got 8 G League minutes and had 5 points and 4 rebounds on 2-4 shooting. I lost track of which roster all the 2 Way guys are on, but Newton, Sanogo, Tyrese, Bouknight, and Joey’s teams all play today

Yesterday NBA -
  • Clingan: 19 minutes, 10 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks on 5-9 FG
  • Castle: really struggled in his return, 2 points and 5 assists on 1-8 FG
G League -
  • Newton: 21 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds on 4-6 FG (5-7 3P)
  • Sanogo (same game as Newton): 24 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocks, 11-14 FG
  • Tyrese: 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 7-19 FG (4-13 3P)
  • Bouknight: 15 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds (good), 7 turnovers and 6 fouls (yikes). 6-18 FG, 1-8 3P

Light day yesterday. Drummond with 9 points and 15 rebounds (throwback), and Tyrese had 3 points in 17 minutes. Andre plays today in the NBA Cup finals

Polley’s G League team played yesterday but he was a DNP. No more G League games until Thursday

Really there are monster dunks happening every day in the NBA. I watch the NBA Show on ESPN and see them every day. Dunks are still a big part of the game and posterized ones are still there.

2 dummies discussing a dumb idea. I bet this is popular.

Most of it was. All of sudden the other team couldn't score for some reason. And for some reason everybody on that team shoots better when Clingan is in the game. It's uncanny. It must be all luck.

Jackson starting w/Bucks right now for the Cup Final

AJax' Bucks up at the half in the NBA Cup. He's played 16 of 24 minutes and leads the team in+/-.

Adama looking massive.

Andre’s defense on SGA has been absolutely relentless. He can’t get a shot to fall, but Doc has been smart enough to leave him on the floor.
