UConn in the NBA - April

You're making up what people complain about. People say it's a different game in the playoffs. That's always been the case. Players don't sit out like they do during the regular season, players play much harder, tough defense is actually played.

It was the highest scoring season in the NBA in over 55 years, more teams tanked than ever before, load management is a huge problem etc.
Nah, i’m not. The people that complain about no defense don’t watch the NBA, but they still complain.

Scoring is up because more players are more skilled, and because teams shoot more 3s, not because people can’t play defense.

I watch, teams and players don't play with all out effort during the regular season and there's very little defense played. Playoffs have always been different.

Paying money to go to an NBA regular season game nowadays seems like the biggest waste of money ever. Guys either don't play or don't try.

It’s normal for a playoff team to be losing by 50, of course I would like to believe the Knicks are this good and have flipped a switch.

Offensively that mid-paint area is the key, got to be able to make moves and finish consistently on non-dunk attempts when delivered the ball as the roll man

They were up 99-38 beginning of the third quarter. I've never seen anything like that. Has it ever happened before in the history of the playoffs?

I've never seen anything like it. They hit 100 it's (101) just over three minutes into the third quarter. This was after slowing down the offense for the last four minutes of the first half. I'm curious as to what the quickest a team got to 100 points in a game.

Largest halftime lead ever in a playoff game and largest lead (61 points) ever in a playoff game. Craziest part is it was at the start of the third quarter.

I wouldn't worry too much. Who looks good against Wembanyama?
In the non-Wemby games he scored 9 and 7 points. On a combined 6-18 shooting.

For the series he had one game where he made more than 1 three even though 55% of his shots came from there.

It’s the thing I was worrying about all year with him falling in love with that shot and not developing scoring ability that could actually help him when it matters. And it led to an all time terrible shooting % for a center.

Thats why Hurley made him focus on what he did here because that’s the stuff that will actually make him effective. He was doing the same for Eric but he decided against it. Interested to see how it turns out for him.

Kon Knuppel crapped the bed in his first playoffs, does that negate his regular season too?

Clingan had a good year. The matchup for him against the spurs was the worst possible matchup imaginable for him.
He had more rebounds than anyone in the entire league. It was his first playoff series. I think he'll be fine.

Gobert was great on Jokic, crazy how inefficient he was, that never happens with Jokic.

Incredible series win for the Wolves so shorthanded. Also, the throwback jerseys and court were terrific.

While this is still on the NBA playoffs, a week ago I would have viewed the Knicks advancing before the Celtics as a virtual impossibility.

On UConn players in the playoffs, I would have at least once or twice attempted to get Clingan low enough in the post where he could have backed Wemby under the basket. Strenght/bulk is the only current advantage DC has and if Wemby is under the hoop, DC may be able to score.
