2020 Recruiting: UConn in for Andre Jackson

Remember towards the end of Calhoun’s tenure teams would negative recruit against us by saying “Calhoun is over 70, he won’t be there for another 4 years” and our recruiting dipped a little? That has to be what’s happening with Cuse. They have really struggled recruiting the last few years.

There's a guy on the Cuse board saying since Jackson needs work on his jumper, he should "be smart" and go to SU because GMac made more threes in college than Hurley. I think he's serious.
Ray Allen made more than Calhoun

.-.
How can these guys just change their crystal ball picks when it seems like everybody knows what's going to happen and have it not hurt their crystal ball accuracy? Seems like a flawed system to me. If that's all it takes to be considered an "insider" for rivals or 247 I could do it.
No different than the idiot Lunardi changing all his brackets 20 minutes before the official release and saying he got 95% of them correct. When more than half are automatic I might add!!

As stars with trains of fire and dews of blood,
Disasters in the sun; and the moist star
Upon whose influence Neptune's empire stands
Was sick almost to doomsday with eclipse:
And even the like precurse of fierce events,
As harbingers preceding still the fates
And prologue to the omen coming on,
Have heaven and earth together demonstrated
Unto our climatures and countrymen...

Just what I’m hearing...typically this guy gives me good info. I’d be glad to be wrong. This is my guy who called the Akok and Cole commitments.
Well I do hope this isn't the case but we still have the OV coming up and maybe his last so hopefully we can flip that switch and nail down this kid

They're using the Joe Lunardi method. Every day his list changes.

Not too surprised by this. After his visits here the feeling was that we had him, but he took other visits including I think Syracuse recently. He is a NY State ball player, born and bred, and the word was always I think that he was headed to Syracuse, and there is pressure from within his state to go to Syracuse.
Thing is though Syracuse and a seriously aging Boehiem are a program on the downhill slide, there's no way around it. Conversely, UConn has already made a coaching change, new blood, a fast rising coach in Danny Hurley, and a program on the verge of breaking back into the nation's elite. That's two in a row now, Akok and Jackson. We're sittin up top now.

Albany ain’t NEW YORK. Not Syracuse. The history of top ball players from Albany - except the GRREAT Craig Forth - is all over. Perkins to UNC. Jimmer to BYU. Huerter to Maryland. Sidney Edwards to Houston. Ticky Burden to Utah. Lamar Odom (Prep) to URI/UNLV. Etc

There’s simply no great pull to Cuse. Siena? The real college ties - including many Refs you know by name - are Siena friends.

So Lane canceled his visit this weekend...going along with Andre Jackson narrative today. Cam and Cliff need full court press.
Cliff and Cam would be IDEAL as a big man, heir apparent to Carlton, and a shooter/scorer are the 2 most obvious holes on the 2020 roster. Big man being the most glaring need.

OT little known Albany great... Lionel chalmers led us to the elite eight in 04. Cousin of Mario, he was unstoppable in the tournament. We’d have played you guys if we got past duke.

Carry on. Exciting to see you guys pull in Jackson and hopefully the big guy. Jackson was aau teammates with one of our 2020 commits and one of butlers as well. Lots of city rocks guys have committed to the big east in the last few years

Always looking for more shooting, elite shooting at that, but we shouldn't be too bad in that dept in 2020 as it stands.

Bouk, Gaff, Cole, Polley, and Akok should likely all be able to shoot pretty well at that point.

We heard the same about Andre a week ago. And I’ll say the same thing I said then TRUST THE GRIND. Thanks for the inside info. Let’s hope Can swings our way too

I hear ya, my understanding though was that this player, Andre Jackson, was always perceived as being a strong Syracuse lean.
