I question the seeding. How is Kemba not # 1 in MSG? I mean Bazz is a worthy one seed but Kemba owns the Garden.

Really good job by whoever set this up the seeding is actually pretty good, IMO. Some really good match ups. Are we going to do the games on the BY?

Paging Bracketmaster @Mano..

I pretty much see chalk here. Kemba, Ray, Rip, and Emeka as the 2 seed in the Final Four. I don't see any classic 12/5 upsets, but watch out for Deandre Daniels to make some noise in the Gampel Region as an 11 seed. I can see him making a run to the Sweet 16.

I don't know. Bazz was a great player for us and is a 2 time national champion. Tough to pick over him.

I like the Charlie/Travis 8/9 game. I was like "no way, wait, maybe.. hmm, I'm not sure."

Walt Dropo is completely, but not surprisingly, underrated. Really unfair he gets Caron right out of the gate.

PIcking nits, but

Put Ben Garden as the #2 in MSG, Move Emeka to the XL, and move Chris Smith to the Field House.

CV with the 12/5 upset
Thats going to be tough since Burrell was a great player and athlete in general. He also played 8 or 9 years in the NBA. IDK if you can take Vital over somebody like Burrell

Its definitely a tough one. Probably a coin flip, but I just think Emeka gets the nod because of his defense and the way he impacted the game on both ends.

Upsets can and do happen.

Everyone will have their own "rules". Mine only include their UConn careers. Ollie played 10+ years in the NBA, but he's a 12 seed up against 5 seed Rashad Anderson who played 5 overseas, so I don't count what happens after UConn, and I don't think those who did the seeding did either.

To be fair, so did Bazz. His pressure and steals are as important as Emeka's blocks and rim protection. Both were able to alter what the offense wanted to do.

Edit...

I'm not saying you're wrong, it's what makes the discussion interesting, once you get past the Sweet 16, a lot of these come down to a coin flip

Goat is such a tired & overused phrase.
Anyway, on UConn merit alone, tough to go against 2x champ Shabazz

Tate George benefits from that approach.

There is definitely an "NBA bump" for the likes of Rudy Gay, Andre Drummond and perhaps even Ray Allen (I would argue Emeka should be a 1 seed instead).

The real question with this one is whether KO has the requisite drive, focus and ambition to orchestrate the 12/5 upset of Rashad? Based on his late season fade / bad form, might be too much to ask of KO...

I think people seriously overlook Shabazz. Kemba, Rip, Ray, Emeka, and Ben were all better basketball players but Shabazz has as storied a college career as any.
- 2 National Championships
- Led us through the postseason ban (this is underrated)
- 1st team All-American
- NCAA Tournament most outstanding player
- More clutch shots than you can count

His career at UConn is comparable to Kemba’s in every way. How some people leave Shabazz out of the UConn Mount Rushmore is beyond me.
