Honest question - is Newark nice or nah? I know literally nothing about Newark but might make the trip down from Boston and make a weekend out of it
Newark's downtown has cleaned up but it's certainly not a city you want to spend the weekend in.

City is okay. Pru Center is great, not a bad seat in the house. Parking easy, and a few good bars/restaurants surrounding center. I would recommend Dinosaur Barbeque. Huge beer list and great barbeque. You could stay over in the city. Only about a 20 min train from either WTC or Penn

Just a random thought...Its funny how the Meadowlands got phased out as a college basketball venue. It was kind of random how we played Duke there a few years ago instead of MSG, Brooklyn, or even Newark.

FSU is absolutely loaded next year. Should be a good challenge for us. Their team is a match-up nightmare I think their smallest guard is like 6-5 210 and their center is 7 foot 4.

Multi-game road trips are good for team building.
Yes you have a point. But anyone who travels a lot for work knows how tiring travel can be. I know these guys are young and way more resiliant than me ( a dead fish is in better shape than I am), but going to different time zones throws your body clock off. Everything is disrupted. Sleep schedule, eating, going to the toilet and so on. I don't think that Arizona, Auburn trip was a good idea. You put yourself at a definite disadvantage.

Kind of curious about what kind of team FSU puts up next season...Obiagu...the 7 foot shot blocking center has transferred, as well as point guard CJ Walker.

Obiagu altered offenses with his defense...he will be missed. Seton Hall has gotten a very good defensive player.

Yeah, no. If that way of thinking became policy, we would never play in Maui with a pre-tournament game in Cali. Perhaps 2011 never happens.

Anyone got the lowdown on FSU...? @BLUEDOGHOUSE
I think they should actually be pretty good next year. They return 10 guys from last year's Elite Eight squad:

Seniors
Phil Cofer (F, 6-8, 218)
Terance Mann (G, 6-6, 215)
Chris Koumadje (C, 7-4, 233)
PJ Savoy (G, 6-4, 200)

Juniors
Trent Forrest (G, 6-5, 215)

Sophomores
MJ Walker (G, 6-5, 205)
Mfiondu Kabengele (F, 6-9, 235)
Wyatt Wilkes (F, 6-8, 210)
Anthony Polite (G, 6-6, 210)

RS Freshmen
Raiquan Gray (F, 6-8, 250)

And they also add David Nichols, a grad transfer point guard from Albany:

I’d stay in the city. Near the Pru center is like staying at the Holiday inn East Hartford.

No he said this doesn't include tournaments like that. Just home and home series

That Ohio State team beat Kentucky by 10 a week after playing us, had an okay B1G season and were solidly in the NIT. I don't think it's fair to say they sucked when that Texas team was only marginally better. These games are often planned years in advance, can't be mad at getting a home and home with Ohio State ever.

I'm not criticizing the decision to schedule them by any means. Ohio State was supposed to be a lot better that year than they ended up being. When the schedule came out, it was definitely a marquee game.

But when they actually played they were 4-4 with losses to Texas-Arlington and Louisiana Tech. When Texas came in they were #7 in the country.

FSU looked tough as heck last year. I'm looking forward to this one. It should be a good test and barometer game for us, and I'll be looking to make it. I went to a Bruins/Devils game once at "The Rock" as they call it, and stayed at a hotel by the Newark Airport that had a free shuttle downtown. Awesome time. It is too bad that there are no big games at Gampel anymore, but as someone who lives down the street from XL, I can't complain. I was at the Cinci game at Storrs last year and it was sold out...too bad we went down 15-0 to start the game.

Why not a home and home?
Exactly, you know I call it like I see it. Dave has a blind spot that neutral OOC against major conference teams are the equilavence to H/H - he needs to give the season ticket holder more value.
