It’s actually 81 for only FBS then add in the two FCS schools (North Dakota State & Montana State) w/ higher SP+ ratingsI do not understand this tweet and I do not accept that we are 83rd.
I have a question on that as well, how did we go down after last year’s finish? It might be just unfamiliarity with the depth that each position.I do not understand this tweet and I do not accept that we are 83rd.
You have to account for "inertia" in rankings. Team that are consistently successful get a little boost from that. Teams that have a prolonged history of struggling get knocked. If we put together another successful year, we will start building a bit of a momentum. It’s hard for me to believe that there are ~80 other teams that are better than UConn
And not overlook and then lose a home opener to an in-state solid and scrappy football team in Central Connecticut State. Too many new faces on lines to be effective that early in the season. Look for the surprise FCS loss to open the season with a torpedo. They lost to UMass by 4 early in season and we won by 5 at end of season with kinks worked out. Hate to call it but this team is not near great…. 7-5 for the season.I have a question on that as well, how did we go down after last year’s finish? And it’s at key skill positions, where we really stand out

But this should be a great locker room motivation for the team because it is definitely a bit of disrespect for the program. Now, all of this has to play out on the field, of course but if this doesn’t help motivate them, I don’t know what will..
But an over 500 record won’t do it for me. We’ve gotta knock off at least one or two of these ACC teams that were playing, otherwise maybe we do deserve the ranking, We’ll see!
Remarkable first post. Bookmark this one people. And not overlook and then lose a home opener to an in-state solid and scrappy football team in Central Connecticut State. I respect the personal outlook, but, to be honest, we've upgraded a bit when it comes to bringing in talent. Don't sleep on that. I think we will have hiccups Moreno against higher caliber P4 Teams early on then finish strong... we shouldn't accept anything much less than that. And not overlook and then lose a home opener to an in-state solid and scrappy football team in Central Connecticut State. Yes grateful but NOT delusionali love that our beloved "troll" is giving a 7-5 year.
Listen, 4 years ago some of us would have paid unreasonable sums of money in exchange for a 7-5 year and a spot in a no-name tuesday night bowl against appalachian state or someone like that.
Now, we're dreaming of sweeping the ACC and a CFP spot.
as unlikely as these dreams are, the fact that we're even allowing them in our minds is a sign of the needle moving.
No matter what happens in 2025, I am grateful.
No, don't read what the coaches say. When coaches say something, you can't assume they are speaking for the purpose of communicating truths any more than politicians do.Not a troll rather just being a realist when folks are talking about college football playoffs and the like. Forum should be entitled to share perspective, if you disagree great,. Just do not think the team is where they need to be and all this new talent will take some time to develop. It doesn’t happen in a summer. Read what the coaches state…. They may not be there and some alternative ways to get home may need to be employed.
Oh my gosh, that is pessimistic. Reading how our offense was having issues moving the ball this summer against the Defense I think was actually a good sign. And not overlook and then lose a home opener to an in-state solid and scrappy football team in Central Connecticut State.
