I sometimes think our perception of the Lady Vols and their fans are colored by what we read on Volnation, which I suspect is a small,, though vociferous, proportion of their fan base.

I think that the Vol fans are very similar to most fans across the country. It's the Vol fanatics that take them over the top. One thing to remember once you have fallen from the top of the heap into mediocrity you fall into that place where your reply to most comments is that ole come back "Oh Yeah". It is fun living here near Knoxville. I think maybe not so much for me if The Vols were at or near the top of the heap.
