UConn, er WNBA All-Stars

No one playing defense means that these great players don't have a chance to show their talents. Anyone can make shots when there is no defense. The all star games are all are joke and a waste of time. Didn't use to be that way.

The last thing the league wants is its best players getting injured in a meaningless game

Besides, Gabby was playing a ‘lil defense :p

I thought it was fun. A nice showcase for the best in the WNBA right now. Honestly not sure how the NBA all star game is any different. Do they play any defense in that game?

I thought the 4-point shot was great and hope they add it to the WNBA regular games. I think it would be cool to not have a "line" to shoot behind, but rather the circles like they had. If you don't have a toe in the circle, it doesn't count as 4 - only 3. Anyway that's off topic.

It was great seeing Pheesa pass Arike's record. 36 points in 19 minutes LOL OMG!!! Gabby certainly showed her stuff. Was bummed Paige's shot was off. And how about the triple-double for Diggins? Good for the "older lady" LOL...

Playing time was pretty spread out but why did A'ja and Alyssa only play 12/13 minutes? And Young only played 1 minute? Did she injure or tweak something?

It looked like all the players were having a great time. Good for them, and loved their shirts before the start of the game. I hope for the W's sake that they don't screw up the negotiations. If the players were to strike, IMO there would be zero interest in "scrubs" playing and no one would go to games, or watch them. They would just have to cancel the season.

Young was hurt but wanted to play. She came out after one minute. Aja told the coach that she only wanted to play minimal minutes. Not sure about Thomas. The four point dots is a good idea but they need to be closer to half court. They were to close to the three-point arch. As for the play I believe that the women do have a closer bond than the NBA players.

We knew Collier was good when she was at Connecticut, but did anyone ever think she'd be as great a pro as she is? (Maybe Geno and that's why he yelled PHEESA! every time she made a mistake.)
My very thought
Pheesa was a fine player...from the get go
I remember in her freshman year, she turned a game around in the Bridgeport regionals. surprised everyone...

But a superstar?

Never would have thunk it...

I did expect her to be a superstar — thought she was very underrated in college.

Being the best player in the WNBA, though, that’s exceeding my expectations.
