Chris Jones has been talking all through the doubleheader that while East Carolina has excellent starting pitching, their bullpen is the weak point of the club. This late inning scoring by UConn seems to be proving his point.

Penders takes his team out of more innings than the opponent. It's not aggressive base running, it's idiotic. Forgot which game it was but you can't explain trying to move over two of your slowest runners (Melley and DeRoche-Duffin) from 2nd and 1st with a sacrifice bunt. My only guess is that Penders thinks the other team is going to throw the ball away.
